If PEDs were linked to a star athlete, which one would be the most devastating?

They all do it. They just call it sports science now. They've gotten so good at it that they don't even get caught until years after when testing agencies have caught up with their testing methods.

With that said, I think MJ would be the one that would have the most ramifications. Everyone expects Bolt to be caught at some point. There are already rumors that Jamaica didn't test their athletes for a whole 6+ month period.

Can't believe no one's said Kobe yet

NT would implode if something like that ever came out

I agree with everyone that says that all players from all sports do it.

In the MLB they try to make it seem like the majority of ped users are Hispanics, mainly Dominicans.

Imo the players that come from poorer countries get caught easier since they normally don't have the advanced science that we have here in the US.

All Phelps did was smoke weed tho

Allen Iverson and these young street ballers in NYC are the reason why its hard for me to link PEDs to basketball in any way.

Usain probably is the most tested athlete on the planet.

Not sure if you are implying that means he is likely clean but I think Lance Armstrong (among others) have proven to us that passing tests means close to nothing. Side note Armstrong's lawyer once claimed Lance passed upwards of 600 tests

Why do ppl make such a big deal out of PEDs? Dont most people cut corners at some point in life if the option is available, especially when your peers and doctors are making it seem ok? Are athletes supposed to be saints, sheikhs, and angels? I don't understand why people feel sad and hurt about this?

If I had millions of dollars on the line I'd do whatever it took.

Its why I don't knock anybody or get mad about it.

Because it's unfair. It also causes serious injuries. Everyone thinks peds are just steroids but it's a lot more complicated than that. Not to mention it can kill depending on the person.

No mystery why all these records are being broken almost simultaneously lol

For me, it's naivete. I try to stay away from words like 'never' and 'always' and 'only', but the 'only' people disappointed about PEDs are those naive enough to believe their favorite team/player is all natural.

I used to be the same way. Used to hate Bonds/Mac/Sosa, swearing that they were super rare exceptions to the fact that everyone else was just going through batting practice and... well, that's it.

True honesty. I respect this answer. People act like if they didn't have a 3yr 20 million dollar contract opportunity coming at the end of their career they wouldn't do the necessary things to beat out the younger guys (just an example)
Especially when many athletes blow all their money in the early stages of their career and are left in debt, they are left with few choices, and if some extra juice will help em get over the hill, they are like hmm "why not"

^ Winner.

Of every name that has been mentioned, and every name I can think of that is enshrined in our memories for their greatness, I wouldn't bat an eyelash if it were discovered they were on something.

But Ali? As soon as I read your reply, my heart skipped a beat and I thought "Noooooooo... nope... no way... not him."

For those saying peds are ok. At what she is it ok to start then? High school? I mean they need to get recruited right?

And to be specific, I'm talking about banned substances
