This team has disappointed almost all year. And Adelman's comments each night postgame are telling.

This is going out on a limb here but I am not going to be surprised if we see Flip back down on the sideline sooner than we think :rolleyes

I don't think that would help anyone. If he does do that in the off-season not middle. Plus maybe we expected maybe too much out of this team. No matter what you think of Dwill he would have been good off the bench for most of the dry runs that bench has had.

And plus Chase and Turiaf were not healthy.

At some point they have to get it together now that therer healthy. But I see it coming down to the last month and games like this and others will be the reason we don't get in.
 
I'm wondering if Rubio's shooting is the difference. This team has a lot of great complementary pieces and a so-so superstar in Love. There's no excuse for them to not be better. I just think that the fact that Rubio can't hit any shot of any kind and that the defense knows this, has really hurt the Wolves.

I know it's been a topic point somewhat, but maybe it's being understated. If he has the ability to score even just 15 a night and hit open shots then I think they starting winning a lot more of these close games.

^Agreed.  I do think if Ricky was just slightly more of a shooting threat, the difference would be huge.
 
Yeah. I mean, there's a reason why Rubio wasn't playing the 4th quarter. I don't like it because he's their starting PG, but can you really really blame Adelman?


Plus, no Kevin Martin in the 4th quarter and he's supposed to be that instant offense, get to the line (perfect for comebacks), 3pt sharp shooter. I guess because Minnesota went on a run down the stretch, but sheesh. :lol:
 
On defense -- I feel like we get just a little too 'handsy' at times.  It's good that we're going for the ball a lot and we do force a lot of turnovers that way (1st in the L per game I believe), but I feel like we need to spend a little more time simply moving our feet, switching, keeping position.

I don't know... maybe I was just noticing this more at the game yesterday, but it seems like it might help.
 
I'll keep an eye out for it next game. I do lots of multi-tasking when I watch the games these days, so I don't pinpoint lots of things I used to. :lol:

Well, they lost the first game of this set where JPZ mentioned they could possibly go 4-0, so hopefully they can reel off three straight and salvage something before the real teams come up.

JPZ: Would love to hear your thoughts and if you saw anything that stuck out last night.

All that passing ability of Rubio's does no good if he can't draw the attention of the defense with his shooting....

Searching for this thread to say the same exact thing. Another damn loss last night. They keep fighting back, but I'm over that. It was fun to see last year and early this year, but at this point they just need W's. The all-star break needs to break this up before it snowballs.

I think lack of defense is the difference more so than Ricky Rubio's shooting deficiencies.

I just researched this: Two years ago, the Minnesota Timberwolves were 21-19. Average minutes played for these players: Beasley- 23, Brad Miller- 9, Wes- 22, Darko- 16, ARandolph- 15.

Record Today: 18-21.

This franchise is in a depressing state of affairs right now. I think the Barea/Love thing was bigger than what was reported when it happened, and I still think it is lingering.

Watching the team on Wednesday vs. Sacramento @ the Target Center was the first time I was watching a team that had checked out completely. All in all, the looked good on paper explanation is not feasible seeing as how everyone is back and Rubio's window for the ACL tear rust has passed. I know Budinger is not himself yet, but it's not reason enough to use as an excuse to why our record stands as it is today since he is now on the roster and active.

A win tonight would be huge as it would help neutralize some of those other losses.

Last night started to restore my faith that they actually still care...Hoping for more of the same after tonight.
 
Good win last night minus Pekovic... who will be re-evaluated today according to reports (and we will know more then).

Going to the New Orleans game on Wednesday. There's no way I'm missing Anthony Davis live.
 
Back over .500. That's the first hurdle. Distance themselves from that line and make a run at the playoffs now.

Jeez! it's about time. I almost bet against them last night since they play like **** once they get to .500
 
Nope. Lots of time to get something going, but from what we know, it's hard to expect them to turn on a light all of a sudden.
