Official Air Jordan XX9 post! 1st two released 9/6/14! NO BUYING/SELLING/TRADING!

Big jump man reminds me of the big pony polo gear and both come off as very tacky to me

Yes, big pony polo gear is corny but i'll give these a shot until i see them in person. No way i'll pay retail for them, though.

That Jumpman would be dope if it was the same color as the upper. It'd still stand out well but not as gaudy as long as it was a flat print against that "whatever kind of print that shoe is"

I'm not paying $225 for a pair of signature Brand Jordan socks.

I'll be interested when JB releases a new signature shoe.

Lol, that's why they hired tinker right? Y'all are funny. Why all of a sudden is looks second to feel? Tinker said it himself that he combines art and science (something like that). These are just another JB "meh" yearly sig. Not till they started looking like crap did people start spewing that "ball shoe first" rap.

They've always been a ball first shoe. I grew up in the 80's amd 90's and every brand aof shoe had more swag back then, but as far as nike's and j's it's been about tech. Look at the Lebron's kobe's all tech and looks are there as a court shoe. Meaning not really meant for red carpet. But like I said all shoe companies had shoes with more sex appeal back in the day that's why everyone pays 170+ for shoes that were originally a 100 bucks.

this is the truth

this shoe is full of hot air especially for $225.00

that last good looking yearly jordan shoe was the 2011 jordan

i picked up 6 pairs of them joints

The leather on those pairs was pretty darn excellent - damn shame they hit outlets, goes to show that 'sneakerheads' have no appreciation for finer materials. :smh:

I want to like them I really do but I just can't,
JB lost me a long time ago and I'm only around due to nostalgic reasons now.
I hate what the brand hasbecome from having to win raffles to buy shoes to over hyped new models that are "great for ball" or "performance beasts" I want sneakers that look good off court as well as on court.

It's be cool if they fit the entire jumpman on the shoe instead of having it cut off and let it be black with the 3m. That would've been a lot nicer

Unsure how I feel about this model.  It certainly isn't groundbreaking in terms of something we haven't seen.  Looks very similar to the XX8 SE (which I liked), however; the huge jumpman needs to be muted.  I don't mind the huge 23 logo on the tongue, though.

My first thought that came to mind when I saw the cement print version was:

Is it supposed to be Russell Westbrook's sig?

In the "Tailored for Flight" commercial I saw on twitter, the tailor is carving an Orange Jumpman from some material that he appears to be stitching onto something and them he zips it up in a bag for Westbrook and Westbrook peeks in and said "we'll save these for the playoffs ".
It's the same color on that J with the huge Orange Jumpman on the side

Well said! Jordan's have and always will be a basketball shoe first! These look to be a great basketball shoe.

QFT

they really really shoulda stopped at xx3 like tinker said they would..woulda been a perfect ending and people actually bought those.. idk anyone that's bought anything post 23s

Really though, I'd like to see best of both worlds. My standards are too high coming from that 90's era of basketball shoes where you did see both design and performance.

I've always favored aesthetics, more-so even back when I played HS bball.
MJ isn't playing in the shoes anymore that's why the 90s pairs are what they are, doesn't matter what the designs look like now they'll never be those.. The xx3 was the last model with any real meaning at all beyond those it's just reaching for performance innovation and being the first on the market to do it

those golf shoes or spikes or whatever that were linked earlier reminded me of these. the xx9 not as much, but it vaguely resembles them. On another note..... these have and always will be better than the xx9 lol. much, much cleaner. The xx9 has wayyyyyy too many contrasting textures. did the midsole really have to have an ele pattern?? Maybe if they shrunk the jumpman down just enough to actually fit... shrunk the 23 down, removed the funky elephant print from the midsole and the faint pattern on the uppers... maybe then we would have a relatively acceptable effort. just like the 15 though,  it's overdone with textures. the shape is not bad to me.

i wasn't really expecting much from these but they look pretty nice.
