Official Air Jordan XX9 post! 1st two released 9/6/14! NO BUYING/SELLING/TRADING!

Just got the black elephants off the recent Nike sale. I must say they live up to the hype. JB still leading the way. Also, would love to see JB do a Dean Smith shoe, and not just an AJ1 x Dean Smith offering.

My gym red OWNITs came in yesterday.
Got a 12 but need a 12.5. Going to hit up our Nike store and see if they have a 12.5 I can exchange for.
NT mobile won't let me post pics for some reason. Anybody else having this issue?
Tbh I have never been to a shoe store with a 12.5 in anything lol. I also got a 12 bc I usually fit a 12.5. They are a little snug but I'm hoping they stretch. If not Nike 39 day return is clutch

Just got mine too, had them at release but sent them back because of a defect. They're so damn beautiful, let the haters hate, more xx9's for us!

I haven't heard anyone mention this, but I love that the outsole is translucent, not really noticeable from the pictures online but it's those little details that make this colorway my favorite. View media item 1444347

Just got my NDC Clearance pair in and I'm debating whether or not I should try em on court tomorrow. I scooped up a pair of Hyperdunk 2013s on clearance last month and I still haven't played in those either.

I'd say play in them, there's no shoe like it, you just kinda fly around the court. I have the Kyrie Hyperdunk 2013, they're great but that lunarlon eventually bottoms out. View media item 1444351

About to just drop the $155 on the gym reds. Played a couple 1 on 1s last night in my Soldier 7s and my foot was sliding around in there. Maybe I didn't tie them tight enough but the tighter you tie them the more stiff and uncomfortable they get. Feet definitely don't feel good today.

I'll wait and see how I feel after the weekend. Been dying to try these out.

So disappointed in this shoe, I was genuinely geeked on all the possibilities in the beginning but nothing exciting ever materialized.  Maybe they're saving all the frills for the XXX since that's more of a monumental #?

man, opinions.

it's my fave shoe to ball in right now. so light. traction is on point. cushioning in the sole is where its at. dunno what's not to love.  most of the waves have been boring, but i think it's a great shoe

Eh. The show is awesome for balling. Course you pay for that awesomeness. JB has done a great job of making the performance leader the last few years.

They (meaning Tinker and the color way designers) did a poor job aesthetically. Photo Reels showed the potential that was possible. You can do patterns, pictures, etc. The options are limited. Instead we kept getting that stupid jump man and elephant print.

Since we're all sharing opinions, here's mine. I love these shoes. Why? Many reasons.. I'll share a couple.

The first reason is because I play a lot of basketball. I love basketball. I use my basketball shoes only for basketball, literally. I am by no means a professional, nobody pays me.. I play basketball merely "for love of the game". As an athlete, I'm naturally competitive.. I believe in having an edge which sometimes translates into owning the best in performance technology. The xx9 is simply the best.

Upper: Performance Woven, it's like flyknit, but flyknit on steroids. And everyone loves flyknit, this is a fact.

Cushioning: Flight Plate and Unlocked Zoom, this setup feels comparable to flying.

Lockdown: Flight Web, we've all heard of flywire, it's kinda like that.. but it actually works.

These innovations are legitimate, this shoe performs.

The other reason for loving this shoe.. the Air Jordan XX9 is extremely unpopular, despite the reasons stated above, and I love that.

For most, this shoe is "ugly", the patterns and colorways aren't "fire", "you can't wear them with joggers..", etc. I'm not one to buy the latest Retros and I don't coordinate my outfits according to color scheme, but if that's your thing, do you. No hate, just simply stating.. that's not me.

Historically, the newest version of the Air Jordan released on or around Michael Jordan's birthday, which usually falls in line with valentine's day and all star weekend.. Call me old fashioned but I'm a real life Michael Jordan fan and not just a fan of Jordan Brand. I'll continue buying the next Air Jordan, now every Fall, not only because it's the latest in performance footwear but also because I'm a fan of the man and what he's done, no shame here.

The success of the brand is a direct result of the ability to appeal to many different markets, I just so happen to fall into a very specific category.

Also, The Air Jordan and I have something in common, we both turn 30 this year.

Anywhere to still find the Team Oranges? Stock Locate and Nike Find turn up nothing. Probably will be like last year though (Jordan 28's), not able to find them via stock locate or nike find, then full size runs start popping up at outlets.

Great post. My only comment is that the recent Jordans are a complete opposite in the retro lifestyle mantra. The originals were intended to perform for the man and look good. The recent Signatures have performed great but the looks aren't there. I don't see a retro of this shoe being successful 10-20 years from now.

We've got the ZX Flux, Hyperchase, etc to show the potential that could be achieved.

Thanks!

I completely agree, the game has changed and the shoes have too. I'm willing to bet that the OG heads have a more polarizing opinion on the matter, even more nostalgic than my own, they probably scoop up the latest Retros for that very reason.. Nostalgia, and I totally get it.

Jordan Brand is smart, they know their consumer and they know them well. It's everyone. They leave no stone unturned.

Growing up, it was always the cool kids that owned Jordan's because everyone wanted to be like Mike. I wanted to be like Mike too, the man was like a Greek myth. Eventually, kids grow up and being cool isn't nearly as important anymore.. But Jordan Brand, as competitive as the man himself, didn't just give up there, they made sure that the once "Cool Kid" now grown and turned "Smart Consumer" has a justified reason to Invest their money wisely. So nowadays we are constantly pitched these various ideas of performance technology and innovation, convincing us that the latest is the greatest.. So they give us all the info to sell ourselves. And you know what, they deliver. They deliver on products because they know we expect nothing but the best. So as we, the consumer, grow and evolve, Nike and Jordan Brand are forced to do the same.

I didn't even start to cover the Hipsters, which begins opposite the cool kids of yesteryear.. or even Kids of Today, a world all its own that I can only view from the outside looking in. But it seems that Jordan Brand will likely stick around a while, unless of course.. Kobe Brand makes some serious leaps and bounds or Lebron wins a few more championships.

I had a question about the fit of the xx9s.

I just received my xx9s off the nike sale and they seem really tight. The midfoot clip seems to be digging into my foot and i guess the "flywire" type lacing straps also seem to be really tight on my foot. They just are overall pretty uncomfortable which is surprising based on the reviews.

Do these issues get better with time or is this shoe not for me? Imreally hoping these stretch out with time. Otherwise back to Nike they will go.

This actually makes me love to wear them with shorts, sometimes jeans depending on the cut. You NEVER see anyone else doing it and I always get compliments.

I rock the hell out of the xx9 with Joggers. My photo reels, black joggers, gift of flight, grey joggers or my jordan pantone accented joggers...haven't rocked em with shorts yet...but think they will look sick.

phongstagram may want to make his "most" people statement read "some" people

returned my team oranges last night to house of hoops hoping I could come away with the year of the sheep but they didnt have em. couldnt leave empty handed since they wouldnt give me a gift card so had to go with these.

probably wont keep em, size 11, would still prefer the year of the sheep

I saw the year of the sheep at NTNYC yesterday. Not sure if you can get them to ship to you.
