Official Air Jordan XX9 post! 1st two released 9/6/14! NO BUYING/SELLING/TRADING!

I had a question about the fit of the xx9s.
I just received my xx9s off the nike sale and they seem really tight. The midfoot clip seems to be digging into my foot and i guess the "flywire" type lacing straps also seem to be really tight on my foot. They just are overall pretty uncomfortable which is surprising based on the reviews.
Do these issues get better with time or is this shoe not for me? Imreally hoping these stretch out with time. Otherwise back to Nike they will go.

Did you buy them TTS? Mid foot clip on the lateral side is tight at first, but once you play in them they get better. At least for me.

Ya I got them TTS. played in them yesterday and they were just killing the lateral sides of my feet with the pinching. Unforunately, they are going back. Maybe I should try 0.5 size up?

I stopped by the mall yesterday to check my size in these and had to go a half size up. Could have probably went a full size for a relaxed fit if these were for casual use, but a .5 size up felt good to me. They should arrive by Friday so I'll find out this weekend most likely.

Guy gave me a the 11.5 (half size up) in the Infrared23s after giving me an 11 in Riverwalks which prior to trying on the Infrareds were by far my favorite colorway, and I fell for them. Considered just copping on the spot for a second at retail. The way the Infrared contrasts with the black makes for a really good look on feet. Excited about these.

Thanks!

I completely agree, the game has changed and the shoes have too. I'm willing to bet that the OG heads have a more polarizing opinion on the matter, even more nostalgic than my own, they probably scoop up the latest Retros for that very reason.. Nostalgia, and I totally get it.

Jordan Brand is smart, they know their consumer and they know them well. It's everyone. They leave no stone unturned.

Growing up, it was always the cool kids that owned Jordan's because everyone wanted to be like Mike. I wanted to be like Mike too, the man was like a Greek myth. Eventually, kids grow up and being cool isn't nearly as important anymore.. But Jordan Brand, as competitive as the man himself, didn't just give up there, they made sure that the once "Cool Kid" now grown and turned "Smart Consumer" has a justified reason to Invest their money wisely. So nowadays we are constantly pitched these various ideas of performance technology and innovation, convincing us that the latest is the greatest.. So they give us all the info to sell ourselves. And you know what, they deliver. They deliver on products because they know we expect nothing but the best. So as we, the consumer, grow and evolve, Nike and Jordan Brand are forced to do the same.

I didn't even start to cover the Hipsters, which begins opposite the cool kids of yesteryear.. or even Kids of Today, a world all its own that I can only view from the outside looking in. But it seems that Jordan Brand will likely stick around a while, unless of course.. Kobe Brand makes some serious leaps and bounds or Lebron wins a few more championships.

Well, back then basketball shoes were quite heavy and clunky. Nowadways, all performance shoes are trimmed to be lightweight and allow more flexibility.
Therefore, the options to add many gimmicks is nonsense.
but still, i think many people just cannot accept contemporary designs ans stick to old school kicks.

I hope the colorways look nice, I'll take decent. Besides the PRs I wasn't interested in any. I am still looking to buy my first pair to ball in
