Kap will be more dangerous if he improves his accuracy, but Alex Smith doesn't make that many mistakes. So, which QB would you rather have?

I'd go with Kap only because I think theres more of a chance for explosive plays ... tho he may turn it over sometimes. I'd take that trade off.

Kaep needs the game to run through Gore to be at his most dangerous

still probably take him if I need someone to win a game of the two and not just management it

Hard to argue with 7-0

actually it isn't hard to argue with 7-0, because alex smith isn't 7-0. The chiefs are 7-0. you can put alex smith on any team, and then instantly make that team better by putting kaep on that team instead.

This question is such a joke.  The fact that some people have voted for Alex is even more of a joke.  Kaepernick has put up similar or better numbers in almost every statistical category and has played a first place schedule instead of a cupcake schedule.  Team success is exactly that.....TEAM success, and is irrelevant when speaking about which of the two is a better individual player.

There isnt a GM/Coach in the NFL that would trade Colin Kaepernick for Alex Smith.

This is a tough one.

A QB that couldn't get a 1st down in the NFC Championship vs a QB that made the Super Bowl and had a chance to win it... A QB that can't plays vs a QB that makes plays with his arm and his legs...

I just don't know.

Colin Kaepernick's career record when the opponent scores at least 24 points: 4-1

Alex Smith's career record when the opponent scores at least 24 points: 2-27

whoever voted for alex smith is a casual football observer and probably didn't watch the 2011 nfc championship game.

alex smith isn't a bum but he's not a guy you can win titles with.  he can get you to the playoffs but 1 playoff win is his ceiling.

kaepernick has done more in less then 16 starts then alex has done in his whole career, and this is including the expceted 2nd year struggles kaep was bound to have.

EEK. That is a damn good (and telling) stat. This reminds me of that one nt'er who had "TEAM 49ERS EXCEPT ALEX SMITH" in his sig

What's so telling about it, a majority of that w/l record probably came with Alex when the 49ers were a bad team. And I would go with Colin btw.

How many of those 27 losses when the Niners were terrible? I'd take CK though

This. If you pick Alex you don't know **** about football.

i think alex smith is underrated and don't care for colin kaepernick

but i would probably go with colin kaepernick assuming they have the same offensive line and weapons

Hard to argue with 7-0
Actually, its quite easy to argue with it.
  • 6 of the 7 teams the Chiefs have played are under .500 on the season.
  • 2 of the teams the Chiefs have played haven't won a single game.
  • The one above .500 team the Chiefs have played is the Cowboys, who are barely over .500 in spite of beating up on their worst-in-the-NFL-division.
  • Combined, the record of all teams the Chiefs have played are 14-33
And with all that said, Alex Smith has managed to put up 8 total touchdowns with a 79.3 passer rating.

Like I said.....its pretty easy to argue with 7-0.....because they are winning with their defense.
