Nike Air Trainer 3 retro's over the years

Beautiful 03's. I sold my size 10.5 a few years ago and have deep regrets about it. If anyone is a size 13, some dude is unloading some pristine gems on ebay. He's asking for a hefty amount though. lol

Ebay listings are way to expensive. I hope that Nike will produce some well made Air Trainers within the next few years. Until then I have to live with my pre 2007 Air Trainers... The infrared AT1s frm 2013, the AT SC from 2013 and the SCII OG QS from 2009 and 2013 were the only exceptions...

What a waste on those pairs in those listings.. They shoudlve been worn long ago. Most of my pairs cracked 2-3 years ago.. Give any shoe 10 years tops.. They are great collectors pieces I guess. My med balls look like his used pair. I would highly advise against buying any of those at ANY cost if you plan to wear them.. Sole swapping is possible but still. My med balls look fine but internally, they are busted.

Based on the creases on the second picture, the leather on the Medicine Balls looks decent this time around. 09's were trash and I had no problems getting rid of them. The first pic looks like the 09's. Definitely will buy if the leather is better this time around. However, I do think the lighter brown used on the 00's and 03's look a lot better.

I go to pick them up thinking that they are the 2001 retros, only to find out that they are the originals. Turns out the guy I bought them from originally bought two pairs but his feet grew so he never got a chance to wear the second pair. They've been sitting in his closet untouched for like the last 25 years. Even still factory laced I think. Aside from a little yellowing, they look fine. Of course this is great, but I'm not even sure if I want to risk wearing them. I've heard old shoes can fall apart really fast once they're worn.

Nice pickup. I think he is wrong about them though.

By everything I look at, those are the 2000/2001 retros. From the shape to the closeness to them looking like the 2000 era, all things add up to them being the retros.

So the box means nothing in reality..

The tongue tag has the font/look of the 2000 era. If you read it, it should list a style code and event a production year/date.

88 era tags read like this:

MADE IN INDONESIA is what most of the 2000 era trainers were made as well. Even the barcode shouldnt exist on the 88s.

Comparing my 2002 white grey reds, the # right below MADE IN INDONESIA is where the product year/month begin/month end is stamped.. From what I can see, there is 10305.. I'm assuming a zero is missing, so it reads 010305... 2001 production year between march and may.. Below the barcode is a smaller production date giving specific date of production.

I wouldnt say its a bad thing (if you got them for a good price). Wearing them now is a small option. I rarely want to test mine any more after losing one pair (i have two others that could maybe be worn).. I'll test mine out today for ya

Oh wow!  That's the shoe (and colorway) that go me into nike and sneakers in the first place.  At the time I didn't bother going to a different store to get my size and got the TW instead.  Regretted it ever since.  Where do I get these?!  And when will Nike retro them again?!  Congrats; I'm happy for you (and jeaslous!)...!

Seems like the Retro. But if so, why did the seller put that Retro on the box from OG era? Just wondering whether it means 1988 OG (can't be worn almost certainly) is more valuable than 2001 Retro (which may still have some life left) nowadays tho.

Incredible.

Wow thanks so much for the info. Really helpful and informative. I should have known that originals would be too good to be true- but when I first saw that grey and orange box that I remembered from my childhood ( i actually had the grey/ blue originals all those years ago) I couldn't believe it. The guy i got them from must have been mistaken about just how long they were in the closet for. I'm still very happy about getting these though- and hopefully I should be able to wear them too!

I think you should be even more thrilled b/c there's a high likelihood that you can actually wear them.  Unless you're specifically trying to collect OGs, I think this is good news....and they look great.  I wonder if they'll ever retro again...has it really been 13 years for this collorway?!

anybody else bo knows horse racing  tongue razor sharp feels like they are cutting into my ankles when i wear em....

also - most ogs had the nike air on the inside insole facing each other, not both facing to the left
