My boy got caught up in a World Ventures Scam

My current gf is into something similar to this.

I pretty much ignore her everytime she talks about it. But recently she said she had a 'business' opportunity for me. This isnt the first time someone aproached me and the last time it happen i was kinda offended.

I mean, in one way or another we all grindin for someone elses benifit, but stil...
Shes thinking about quiting her main job to focus more on this. The company is neways and almost everything she has in her home is from neways...

How should I deal with this?

Sometimes people have to learn on their own. She might be successful at it but the odds are stacked against her.

Are you seriously comparing a college education to working for an MLM? I'll take an Ivy League education over a pyramid scheme any day.

As for an extra $600 a month, thats hardly anything to brag about. Not to toot my own horn, but during an off-term for college I made more than that in a week while interning somewhere. Sure, an extra $600 a month would be nice, but I'm not willing to sacrifice my dignity or personal relationships for it.

No i'm comparing how both institutions prey on those who haven't quite found out what they want to do and sell them the "dream" of being successful knowing that a large percentage of those coming in aren't going to get to that level.

Sure i would take an IVY league degree over World ventures.... Not so sure if i would take a GE degree from a mid tier school and be 40-60 thousand in debt due to that...

are you serious. a degree from ANY school is worth far more than a pyramid scheme (unless your at the top). but of course it matters what your majoring in. I got some homies that spent like 50k plus for school, just to major in Art

. That for sure is definitely a scam. Colleges should let people know before they sign up for some of these dumbass major that they most likely wont make back their tuition

a bachelor's degree is the new HS diploma. A lot of places won't hire you unless you have one. there are many fields that you can make a career out of without having to apply your degree. BA's are worthless and offer nothing more than a life experience while at school. A BS is a bit more applicable. Also. there is really no need to spend $50k for a college education. I went to CUNY and paid no more than $12k for fours years.

How exactly are they not worthless? Name me one person you know with a BA that actually works in a moneymaking career that is related to their degree? I know tons of people with BA's or other worthless degrees that still work at T-Mobile

sorry. Maybe worthless was the wrong word. What you major in to get a BA is meaningless.

cool?

The thing I don't like about pyramid schemes the most is the brainwashing they do. The cult-like mentality the members

of these schemes have is sickening. I've lost friendships because of Vemma and Herbalife. They won't talk to me

just because I refuse to join them as a member of their "network" or "team". I'm too close-minded for them now. It's crazy, man.

I couldn't date female who was involved w/ this ****......folks act all cult like and when you turn it down they get butthurt and start the "you don't like money" comments

Man people that are in these things are mad annoying
Met this one dude through a group of friends that is an amway
Tries to sell everyone energy drinks and tries to recruit people the second he meets them
Even leaves school to go to all meetings and all that
Dude is all into it, he's even majoring in business thinking its gonna really help him out

I'm at work dropping something off and this other lady hits me with the you tryin to make money?

these things are all over

So let me get this right... You basically work hard and sell people stuff so they'll let you borrow a BMW?

Can someone please look up a company called "ACN"? They tried gettin my a couple months ago, all of a sudden I'm seein new Mercedes' drivin around w/ an ACN license plate cover, parked in front of people's 2 story houses, my friend that tried to get me said he's aboutta put down for a house soon and buy a new car. They showed me a magazine cover for "Stay at Home Business" with their company on the front as a hugely successful business. They even gave me a DVD w/ Donald Trump endorsing the company and praising it.

They hold meetings / events, conference calls, etc. all about this business. Apparently they sell telecommunications services from legit retailers like AT&T, Comcast, etc. but they were trying to get me to pay a sign up fee of $500.

I was like

I was never positive about it being a Pyramid scheme, but my homie smacked some sense into me that it must be too good to be true.

Well I know in Vemma, their sales pitch was, "you don't sell stuff bro, you get people to join you and that how's you make money." But yeah, in order to be an active member

and be eligible for compensation, you have to have two people signed up under you, and they must each purchase $150+ worth of energy drinks every month. Those two people have to recruit two more people each (at least), and then those two people have to recruit two, and so on. And you yourself have to purchase $150+ worth of energy drinks as well, which amounts to two cases worth of drinks.

Works the same way as Amway. Those guys you see buying mansions, pushing Benzes busted their ***** off and have been doing it for years.

My Ex was doing world ventures, sh** had her sounding like a tv advertisement she was talking so crazy and passionate about it I thought the video brainwashed her

I never watched it. Not sure how people are still falling for pyramid schemes, my roommate is in some "marketing" scheme now smh.

Lol i actually know someone who made it off ACN. But, he was recruited/mentored by the starting guy that brought ACN to Las Vegas. The starting guy is a multi millionare, but everyone else I know that hopped on even a few months after lost all their money
