Calvin Johnson: Greatest WR of All Time Discussion

Not with GOATS like Brady and Peyton. Brady probably set Welker up for HOF in catches. I could only imagine what he would have done for Andre (and Fitz/Calvin for that matter) during those years.

Yeah that's about 30 more catches and 400 more receiving yards than the all time receiving records.

To acheive numbers like that in single season, he would need around 3 or 4 more games in a season at his highest production per game. Even if he had a better quarterback, there's a point of diminishing returns.

Brady and Peyton played with some all time great receivers in their prime ( Harrison, Moss) who couldn't achieve numbers like that in a single season.

So we discredit his whole body of work because of what his 2 most memorable plays (in your eyes) are? Sounds foolish.

DC, in any way did you like TJ over Chad and think Housh was a more reliable/solid WR? I haven't gone back and compared their Cincy numbers but just curious on that

I didn't discredit his whole body of work. He's a HOF WR who will end up being top 5 probably when it's all said and done. Point to where I said he was a bum or anything of the like?

This thread proclaims him the GOAT and at this point in time...

Those are his two most memorable plays at the moment whether that's fair or not. With a position like wideout, hard for me to call you the GOAT if that is the most indelible memory of you at the moment.

The two most memorable plays of his career are probably that one time he caught the ball on like 4 dudes and that other time he did the same thing

But maybe everyone has different definitions of memorable

You aint gotta lie craig.

Type "Calvin Johnson catch" to google and see what 's the first thing that comes up...

No duh he has made amazing catches going back to that one-hand grab on that horrible Reggie ball throw behind him at GT. But his signature NFL moments are a no-catch and a fumble now at this present moment. Maybe that's cause he's been flanked with the Lions and Matt Stafford (and he still has time to change that) but that's the truth as of right now.

???????????

Nobody is touching Rice. His work ethic, his consistency, his numbers are insane. Generation text and beyond doesn't have it in them to catch

Yeah Calvin Johnson doesn't really have the memorable moments in big games like Jerry, Terrell, Randy, Marvin or Larry.

Yeah Rice is beyond the best receiver of all time, he's arguably the greatest player of all time.

Anybody who doesn't have Jerry as their GOAT WR really isn't worth responding to.

#Boy I don't have no reason to lie to you

Why would I google what my most memorable play of his is or what I think it is? what kinda sense does that even make

I can add extra words to my searches or alter my search subjects to tailor my results as well lol. We all know how Google works, I can search for images of this "memorable play" and it won't even come on the 1st page

Don't be glib my guy.

If you've watched the sport and the 1st thing you think of is that play then that's on you  :pimp:

Lots of salty Megatron fantasy owners in here. I own him too, that fumble cost me a W. Move on losers, it's not that big of a deal.
