Calvin Johnson: Greatest WR of All Time Discussion

NTers are too predictable b. After conducting a quick search in the Fantasy Football thread I saw this clown worldbeefreeg's last post asking for trade advice. As you can see, a fellow NTer and I told him to accept a trade offer including Megatron (bad advice in retrospect, but I digress). He probably took our advice and now he's all butthurt because of last night's fumble.

DC, in any way did you like TJ over Chad and think Housh was a more reliable/solid WR? I haven't gone back and compared their Cincy numbers but just curious on that
Nah, TJ was a major beneficiary of the attention that Chad faced every game. He was more reliable in expecting him to run the right routes, be in the right spots, etc. Chad had a run where he led the conference in yards for like 4 or 5 years. That was incredible.

Welp....

anyways...all this talk about Calvin Johnson, Moss, TO, etc. just makes me realize how big of a gap it is between them (fighting for #2) and Jerry Rice.

I didn't watch irvin play and don't know his numbers but he's not on anyone's top 3 list?

Moss
Rice
Swann
Irvin

Other ppl i cant think of like steve largent. Isaac bruce. Torry holt.

Megatron

I don't think Swann or Stallworth are ahead of CJ81 in the GOAT WR conversation either by numbers or individual achievement.

I never bought into the talk of his demise, greatness doesn't just vanish like that. All he needed was some Cooter...

Dude was on pace for 1300 yards and 6 touchdowns before today in one of the leagues worst offenses.

It was always bull shot

Thread is bumped when he has a bad game....well, let's give him his props for today.

Moss all day.

Rice was a huge cheater, admitted it to all.

Yeah I'd go with Moss. I mean how many players could have out of this world talent while high AF?

As far as pure talent, moss is out of this world. Yeah if you want to point at numbers, then yeah rice. But we talking about talent.

When discussing the Greatest of All Time, in what universe does talent trump numbers?
