Calvin Johnson: Greatest WR of All Time Discussion

It's crazy how 1200 yards can equal a bounce back year for Fitz, but a 1200 yard year for Calvin Johnson means he's washed

One more regular season in the books:

Calvin Johnson, at 30, is sitting at:
731 receptions
11,619 yards
83 TDs

2 playoff games, 17 receptions, 296 yards 2 TD

Larry Fitzgerald, at 32, is sitting at:
1018 receptions
13,366 yards
98 TDs

7 playoff games, 45 receptions, 736 yards, 9 TD

:pimp:

Moss might physically be the greatest WR to play the game, physically. What I mean by that is he could catch a 5 yard pass and take it 80 yards to the house, he could go deep and out jump defenders, and go across the middle. When you think about height, speed, athleticism, Moss might be the greatest physically.

Moss is a little like Vince Carter. Vince was one of the greatest ball players when it comes to what he could do physically, jumping ability, speed, size, etc. Athletically, Vince was the closest thing we saw to MJ until Lebron came along.

I love Randy but I've never seen a player get more credit for what he could have been vs what he was.

When Randy was the age Larry's is now he was getting traded and waived not taking over playoff games

Two years ago Fitz was washed and had a big cap hit. Dude was coming off two injury plagued seasons AND he was on a horrible team putting up 800 yards a year.

Cardinals got a new GM, renegotiated his contract and he's flourished every sense.

Take note Calvin we got a new GM and that Good Cooter is sticking around.

Please don't retire. :frown:

No receiver, not Larry Fitzgerald, Randy Moss, not Jerry Rice has put the numbers in Calvin Johnson has in their first 9 years in the league.

And all he has had is Matt Stafford(aka White Dante Culpepper) throwing him the ball.

Wasn't until his 8th year in the league until he played with a another 1000 yard anything. Receiver or Running Back.

#Goat.

Right, only 4 other QBs besides Matt Stafford have ever thrown for over 5,000 yards in a season. He's no Tom Brady!

Drew Brees
Peyton Manning
Tom Brady
Dan Marino

Matt Stafford :smokin

Careers don't end after 9 years so he has a long way to go to be the GOAT of anything

Right now he's the GOAT Detroit Lion receiver

Calvin Johnson is somewhere in that 20-25 range if he retires today

Decent career, probably gets in the Detroit Hall of Fame

Moss is still my all-time favorite WR.

That dude Fitz is special though, and never once did or said anything to be a detriment to his team in any way

I guess Gale Sayers didn't play in the NFL.
