Sacramento Kings off-season thread

he probably wants to put it on hold for a bit on the extension to see what we initially do in the offseason to improve
Its dope he let us know before the draft happened.... so thats a plus I guess.

Here's some more tweets, I like what Ziller was getting at

Liking what Jones has to say about IT's potential offer
That Gay hasn't extended tells me the Kings weren't offering crazy luchre. That's good.

The Kings tried to sweet talk Rudy Gay into opting out and signing a longer-term deal. He didn't. Oh well.

Next deadline of note is for the Kings to make Isaiah Thomas a qualifying offer by June 30. They will and he will be a restricted free agent
— Jason Jones (@mr_jasonjones) June 22, 2014
Kings plan to match any reasonable offer for Thomas, which I've heard would be in the $6 million/year range.
— Jason Jones (@mr_jasonjones) June 22, 2014
Kings never believed Rudy Gay would leave them hanging going into the Draft, but are still relieved he didn't.
— Jason Jones (@mr_jasonjones) June 22, 2014
Kings would have looked hard to trade for a SF if Gay had not opted in.
— Jason Jones (@mr_jasonjones) June 22, 2014
Kings happy Rudy Gay has opted in, especially letting them know before the draft, which would impact moves the team might make.

 tired of our great white hope draft pick and acquisitions to sell tix

hope douggy mac ends up like adam morrison  plus we have too many macs on the team already

i think with rudy opting in it makes our 8th pick even more expendable

It just makes dealing the pick even more interesting.

Like I said earlier, I don't think we will be looking to add anymore salary. Whoever we would be trading for would have to be on the cheap... (Unless Vivek is going all Prohorov on us)

Plus the players we have to deal would just be filler... like there's is probably next to 0 value in JT, Landry, D-Will

So I guess, here's to not trading the pick for Brandon Knight or Denis Schroder

lmfao those 3 guys will fetch as a value meal at mcdonalds

hopefully we can at least force another teams hand in taking one of those guys if we trade our pick but once they see that in any trade package i'm sure they'll run

:pimp:
it's awesome that DMC and Rudy appear to have great chemistry.  They seemed to get along great from the moment Rudy got here.

Ben posted one too:

Love the camaraderie

just read about the Rudy thing :smokin

I hope we can find someone dumb enough to take on the JT, Landry contract

aside from our 8th pick and Ben i don't think we have trade bait

Petrie find a GM job elsewhere yet?

Vivek should offer Melo the max + shares in his tech company + superstar status in India...then sign Rondo this off-season and now you have a big 3 + Rudy Gay.

Can't wait to see what goes down on draft day.  I think i'm going to end up being kind of sad because it's looking like the Kings are going to trade the pick which means we will be passing on one of Randle/Smart/Vonleh/Gordon

Yup. Pete D sounds determined to rid ourselves of the pick. Bet we'll end up with a mid-tier, overpaid, role-playing vet and a future 2nd round pick.
