Lupe Fiasco Drogas Waves out now - Who needs 7 tracks for a great album?

The KTT forums are breaking and dissecting this down like crazy . The nuances and hidden meanings and symbolism in thisalbum are ridiculous
I don't even usually get into to **** like that, usually just a lot of ****** reaching but I'm intrigued I'm about to go over there and see wassup

What beat is "murals" from? I know I heard that joint before.
Curren$y - Mary and Jeezy recently sampled it on his album.

Tyler sampled another Cortex track, the same one from Wiz- Visions and MF Doom - One beer, dudes have been sampling them for a while

Copped mine, havent finished listening to it. Probly by tmrrw should be done.

Had to go to three different stores just to get this.

Both Targets by me were sold out, had to go to a record shop to cop.

Casey Veggies and Ace the Creator was the first time i can recall hearing the sample

can some one link the KTT thread i will check out rap genius on this too.

I just started streaming it and i can't get past Mural  vintage lupe. Lupe the killer lupe. Based on this song along i am buying a hard copy today somewhere.

3 listen throughs and still love it, going to playing this one for a while. Trying not to be prisoner of the moment but it's F&L>The Cool>=Tetsuo and Youth>F&L2

I agree with this. Nothing going to top the original Food & Liquor

That intro of the original Food & Liquor is so classic.
indeed.

Im not going to Target to purchase albums no more. They never there talkin about its an online only release for them.

Murals is crazy, but really gotta listen to it. (listened about 3 times)

I have only went through the album one time, and off the initial listen, its kinda ehh. But like any Lupe album, you gotta really listen, and digest the words/meanings.

F&L 2 was a dope album minus a 4 song stretch by the way.

great album :pimp:

-the production really stands out... the beats fit lupe's style perfectly
-i really liked the seasons tracks... i feel like they did a good job of breaking up parts of the album
-that was vintage lupe on mural :wow:
-that beat is so tough on prisoner 2 :smokin
-it was good to hear nikki jean on a couple different tracks... her & lupe always put together good music
-that solo to close off body of work was amazing

its going to take me a while to catch everything he's saying on here  off of my first listen though, im a fan of it :nthat:

To be honest the opening track on the Food & Liquor (Non Original) "Real" is a dope song. Play it nearly everyday to make sense of this adversity I'm facing: http://genius.com/Lupe-fiasco-real-lyrics

My favorite verse from it is..

Lifffffe... ain't meant to come around twiiiice
Yeah, that's why I gotta get it right
They said I got it honest now I gotta give it LIFE
But sleep on it, that's why God give you night
I mean, I had a dream that, God gave me FLIGHT
Too fly for my own good so, God gave me plight

If I wake up in the mornin now I gotta give 'em SIGHT
Make 'em see, break 'em free, ain't a G, sho' you right

When i talk around people about my personal top 5 albums of all time, and I say F&L is number one.. they hit me with the

As I'm describing this to them "Real" is always playing through my head.. first time i ripped that packaging off.. :smokin :smokin :smokin

Every song on that album meant something special to me at the time and whenever i hear a song from it takes me back for few mins..

Same here! At the time I was still pretty young and trying to skate and to hear another black guy talking about skating was so dope to me. So Kick Push, Daydream, and I Got ya were my favorite songs at the time. As I grew older and continued listening to it that's when the lyrics of other tracks really stuck out to me. Album seemed to grow as I did, if that makes any sense.

They projecting 30-35k

 They sleeping on the king.

This album is a work of art. from the cover to each track.  I think the worst part is not so much that they don't listen to him, but that they criticize him more than they hear him out. It's a damn shame.

30-35 K is not bad for Lupe Fiasco in 2015.

Ya'll gotta stop judging the current landscape by the old standards.

This is his last album w/ the label right?

Yep it's his last Atlantic album

I haven't really followed him like that over the last few years cause I wasnt ******* with the last few albums, I legit thought he had way more loyal fans than that tho

What's funny is somebody asked him on Twitter his projections a week or two ago and he said about 30k

Lupe killed it on this album. Hard to believe he even put out Lasers.

I think this is his 2nd or 3rd best album, but the beat selection is easily the best.
