Majid Jordan, The Space Between, AOTY Out Now! Vol. OVO Sound

I'm taking back what I said, after a few more listens I'm loving this album

I just wish they had a radio hit to make others check them

Yo, this album is surprisingly great! It has a retro 80's vibe but every song rides so well. Very impressed with their debut..

You know they got the juice when we get a @DipsetGeneral cosign.

Shake, Shake, Shake, could be it.

Definitely has potential as a single.

I like Majid Jordan, but it's clear to me these dudes are song writers. All these songs would ring off harder with other singers.

albums good but, missing that star quality.

These guys make perfect music for mid tier clothing stores. I could picture Zara playing this album

I also feel that certain communities will eat this type of music up. Not that there's anything wrong with said demographics or communities

The production, beats, cadence and lyrics are very posh

It's good music, make no bones about it

Calling what they do boring lounge music would be one thing, and that doesn't seem altogether unfair, although I would disagree, but bringing "certain communities" into it seems pretty unnecessary, and hardly makes much of a point. What they're doing isn't really new or fresh sounding, but genuine, 80s-inspired synth-driven R&B where the vocals aren't complete manufactured is still a nice break from most of the stuff out there.

What the hell, nobody called it boring lounge music

do you know what lounge music refers to? I'm not making any kind of point, I'm stating an opinion of who especially would enjoy this music, outside of myself and the others in this thread

You last line hardly makes a point by the way. Who cares if it's not new, making a new type of music isn't too common these days

Fair enough. I just don't see what you mean by "certain communities." I think it has the potential for pretty broad appeal.

It's pretty good but there's not a whole lot of depth. I think you can still create the kind of vibe they're going for and leave a more indelible impression.

I just meant that certain communities will eat it up, it definitely has broad appeal which is why I agreed that it's great lounge music

Make it Work and Shake Shake Shake are the standouts for me but I can play this whole joint from front to back without skipping anything except my love

This album is fire...

I don't even like this type of music. The whole sound is cohesive as hell. Great production. Their voices are legit...sounds smooth af :pimp: :pimp:

Learn from each other :pimp: :pimp: :pimp: prolly my favorite one

Something about you :pimp: :pimp:

My love :pimp: :pimp:

Make it work :pimp: :pimp:

Day and night :pimp: :pimp:

Man everything was pretty lit

"King City" is magical, man :smh:

Glad I held off on listening to everything except "My Love", because taking it all in as a full body of work was beautiful. Knew they wouldn't disappoint.

Hope some tracks catch on for them.

Small Talk -> Pacifico -> Shake Shake Shake [emoji]128293[/emoji][emoji]128293[/emoji][emoji]128293[/emoji]

Shake Shake Shake is growing on me. Wasn't feeling it at first at all.

Glad I didn't listen to any songs before the album released. Way better to hear it all together. :smokin
