2015 Lexus RC Coupe *** Now with a I4 Turbo Engine

Just hope they fix the damn Navi controls. I have a new GS F Sport and I HATE the stupid mouse thing. Takes forever to type in an address and it feels clumsy overall. BMW I Drive >> So much easier to use. Was going to trade in my 3 series coupe for a 4 series but now I'm curious with this RF-C. I'll have to check it out before I make any moves...
This one has a touchpad, which I am assuming for controls of the nav and screen, is it similar to yours?
Nah, but that seems like it would be much better. The GS has this dumb mouse kinda thing. I wish you could just scroll from button to button instead of free roam with the mouse thing. Lot of unnecessary and inadvertent clicking happens.

Another gripe I have with the new Lexus cars is the absolute waste of space the mode control dial is. Why do you need to waste all that space to switch from Eco to Sport to F Sport mode? A simple toggle switch would have worked. Then again, a lot of the new luxury cars are doing this.

that would really help improve the interior. isn't the is-f getting it? if so, it would make no sense not to put it in every other F car.

I'm usually not a fan of Lexus, but I'm really liking this so far. not a fan of the grille, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me.

I believe the IS-F does have it.... but... this odometer???

It doesn't bother me, I think it's just a design choice. It could be smaller but I guess they want to highlight that feature?

I like that style on the Jaguar, it's how they switch from Park, to Reverse, to Drive, etc... Except Jaguar sis cleaner, it lays flat when the engine isn't on and it rises up when you start up the car, pretty cool feature.

they neeeeed the LFA odometer on this car

That Jaguar one is DOPE. It's an integral part of the car too, as it is a gear selector and not just an "eco/sport/fsport" mode dial. Once I found out what the dial was used for in my GS I laughed. All that space for something that could have been placed as smaller toggle switches on the center console/driver's side dash. I guess I'm more into a cleaner look like BMW/Mercedes. I'd much rather see a nice piece of Carbon Fiber/interior trim than a big dial for no reason.

Mayeb they really have nothing else to put in there?

Not a big fan of the BMW switch I have on the Z4. There's no Eco mode, just Comfort, Sports & Sport+ but it's a up and down toggle switch. Could have been better integrated I think.

You can probably remove the digital speedo for something else like temperature, plus a lot of people prefer looking at the needle.

Yeah, it was mos def a space filler. Lol. They could have put the three modes into toggle switches a la the new F30/32's. I guess I'd rather see more minimalist switches and more CF/Brushed aluminum trim. I got an F30 for a loaner when my 335 was being serviced and it had the switches for the different modes. Worked great and wasn't obtrusive.

I'm really curious to test out that trackpad on the RC though...

seats look like they'd get dirty easily...no hate, just not a fan of interiors of the lighter shade..

I had the same thought, but its very common for manufacturers to use light colored interiors for promotional shots because they photograph better.

I really like the seat design and Im interested to see what interior color options they'll offer. I agree with RFX that red would look nice.. but I've always been partial to red interiors.

I really want to see more company's go back offer an old school porno red interior.

Im talking something like this

Most contemporary "red" interior options consist of a black interior with red seats and accents. Maserati is the only company that comes to mind who still makes a really red interior and even their option still comes with a black headliner and dash (I know... I know... its for less light reflection, but I dont care).

there's a 5.0-liter V8 engine sitting under that massively domed hood with "more than 450 horsepower," along with a newly calibrated eight-speed automatic gearbox.
