relocating for a month/monthly rentals?

Me and my roommate have been thinking about renting our place in Brooklyn out and living in San Fransisco or L.A for a month or two, work a part time gig and enjoy the weather.

Any of you guys ever do this? any advice?
 
SF in Feb is pretty rainy ~50 degree highs. It's much warmer than NYC, but I suggest LA during that time period for good weather, it's at least 10 degrees warmer than SF. I think you'll have fun in whatever city you choose though.

We were also considering LA, but I was told the public transit is much better in SF. Would we be able to get around LA without a car for a month?
 
It would be pretty difficult without a car, public transportation in LA is subpar compared to SF. Maybe you can try some car rental services?
