R.I.P. Blockbuster...

Good riddance!! These bastards were the last stronghold and the only roadblock for everything becoming streaming. With these dinosaurs finally out of the picture we can get everything streamed and a lot sooner too.

RIP. I remember renting tons of SNES games there and spending mad long in their horror section only to be told i have to be 18 to rent those movies out.
Remember passing by and throwing movies into their drop off shoot without even walking into the store.

While it sucks, I hope now I wont have to see their stupid app on my sprint phone.

I remember renting a Sega genesis from there just to throw the half court alloy oop on USA Basketball. ...Sad to see a part of my childhood go.

Anyone still have Hastings around their way?

They seemed to really leverage against streaming by having books, misc. junk, and games/movies for sale. Plus they have a solid array of older dvds. Not every movie is on Netflix or Redbox. So for that reason, there is still a place for physical dvds.

How sad is this generations movie habits going to look in 10-20 years when we all saw the same 300 movies thanks to Netflix and Redbox... Unless the streaming sites can expand on showcasing more movies, new and old, good and bad, I think physical stores still have a chance... Blockbuster seemed to never want to change.

On demand streaming is big too. People forget its not just netflix or redbox. Xfinity and Xbox Live have new releases in HD. I go through them from time to time.

It doesn't hurt to have everything at your disposal.

So can we blame netflix + internet for this?

nah blame redbox
redbox single handedly ******* on block buster

RIP Renting games and trying to beat them in a few days.

:\

Will def miss. Was definitely a staple of the childhood and young adulthood. RIP.

you can still do this with redbox

No man nothing can replace walking down isles and searching for that perfect movie or game with keen eyesight and patience. Plus redbox rentals are by the day so it doesn't give you the same challenge as the blockbuster rental time.

Plus, redbox needs to step up their capacity of DVD's. It can't match Blockbuster's/Netflix catalog. But redbox for games is :pimp: with new releases.

Netflix >>>>> ______

Redbox going down next.

I use to swap last years version of nba 2k with the new one and tell blockbuster they gave me the wrong 1 so id get a new game and free rental

Childhood memories for sure. Nothing like turning a winter NYC night into a pizza/movie night with the family. I could never beat these games within the rental period

Redbox will only get stronger, especially since they just started their streaming service. They just need to get their catalog up

Great memories. All my 80's babies know whats up. Especially if you were one of those introverted kids like myself. Nothing was more exciting than renting a game for Sega Genesis or SNES. The weekend was mine.

And when pops use to rent a movie for family movie nights. Nostalgia.

It's a new generation. These kids are blessed to live in a age of immediate media entertainment. 80's and 90's kids, even though we didn't have the internet and streaming, didn't it make you appreciate media entertainment more?

These training videos are hilarious.

All corporate training videos are elaborate troll jobs . They know that **** is ridiculous, they know no one gives a **** about them its just the longest gag in history of capitalism.
