Got a red light ticket but i'm not the driver. How can i win in court?

That's different because a actually cop saw you and stopped you. You would compare this red light camera violation to going through EZ Pass with no pass. What happens?
what are you talking about? The picture in the red light ticket is not me.

I had one of these here in Oregon while driving my dads car. All he had to do was send in a copy of his drivers license and they could see it wasn't him driving and it was waived. I would imagine it would be the same in other states.

People are still paying red light camera tickets? A bunch of ignorant suckers.

Don't listen to the morons in here. Just tell them that the person in the photo is not you and the case is dismissed.

Hell, it could be you and it'd still be dismissed. I've dismissed more red light camera tickets than I can count. All you have to do is tell them that they're illegal and constitute a speed trap.

that what's im thinking. The reason i created this thread just to find out if i can get any advice from people with some knowledge. I guess you're the only one so far. The rest of these responses are  .

SO U THOUGHT NT WOULD PROVIDE BETTER LEGAL ADVICE THAN A LAWYER?

BRILLIANT!
I never said that chief. I thought NT would offer some decent advice not some random stupid responses like telling me to snitch on my family member.

 Word. Son too cheap to not only pay the ticket but get the advice from legal counsel. Stop being a coward and make your family member pay the ticket. That's why you don't let people drive your whip. I'm willing bet the person didn't have a license either.

Haha only fools pay tickets without a fight. Unless you're rich $500 is not some spare change. I'm not  the driver. If there's a way to get the ticket dismissed then why would i want to admit guilt and pay the fine? The person who drove my car does have a license. He just got unlucky the yellow turn to red too fast. There was no other cars on the road. He thought he could make it but he didn't.

Legal advice is free for me. I only made this thread to find out if anyone ever got it dismissed and want to hear from them not some random bs responses that offer no help.

   wait, time out! Did this dude just say this?

His family got unlucky that the yellow light turned red to fast?

I hope i have that option but they only give me 3.

1 snitch

2 admit guilt

3 request trial

i'm going with the number 3.

Thanks for the response

Yes lol. Some yellow light turn faster than other. Normally it took 2 or 3 secs for yellow to turn red. This one took like half second.

Yes It is my family member fault
This is the only thing that you have said in this thread that matters. It was his fault.
So if he cant afford red light tickets, then maybe next time he should be more careful.
Or at least know where the red light cameras are and dont go through yellow lights at those intersections.

I understand that you are just basically looking for a way out of you and him paying for the ticket, and hopefully you wont have to pay.
But you cant be mad if they decide that you do have to pay, because ultimately it was your fault for letting him drive, and his fault for running a red light.
After all they put the cameras up to stop people from running red lights and that is precisely what he did.

Best of luck

Lol you don't think i had a man to man conversation with him? I was about to beat him up for running a red light. But he's my family member and also a friend so if i know there's a way to get the ticket dismissed then that's what i'm going to do. If you do research red light cameras actually cause more accident than stopping people from running light. But im not going to get into that. The whole point is i will try my best to get this ticket dismissed without having to snitch on my relative. Thanks for the response though.

Skimmed the thread and saw something about yellow lights, so I want to clarify something really quick that is true, at least in Southern California.

A violation for running a red light is actually much more than just "not making the yellow." In fact, if you think you are able to make the yellow, and you feel that it is much safer for you to try and make the yellow vs braking very hard, you are completely allowed to do so, even if it means you actually end up running a red.

In order for "running a red" to constitute a red light violation, you would have to literally run a solid red light, either from a standstill or from a distance. Otherwise, you can make a case for it being necessary due to safety reasons.

Anyway, take that as it is. I'm no lawyer, but I've fought a lot of unfair tickets between myself and my friends/families so I've read up on a lot of the rules and what it means to actually violate them.

LOL

I don't know how it works in your state, but out here in cali, you have to go to traffic school for a red light camera ticket. So not only do you have to pay some 500 bucks, but school as well and if you don't it goes on your record. kinda sucks.

Yeah, you don't know what you're talking about.

Why don't you leave the thread.

Never knew u could get it DISMISSED. Im very interested in how this turns out update this thread

Your car = your ticket

NOT VERY ALPHA
Op man up and tell him to pay the ticket. Let em take responsibility.
unless you claim your car being stolen, you gave consent for another person to drive your car. your car = your ticket

man up, tell whoever to pay it or its yours til its payed

traffic cams have no sympathy

because you're the owner of the car, you take responsibility for whatever happens in it
Why would you think posting on a shoe forum would be better than talking to a lawyer?

Enjoy your lawyer fees as well.

Your car = your ticket. Enjoy.
OH REALLY? Guess what?

TICKET GOT DISMISSED TODAY BECAUSE I WASN'T THE DRIVER. THE JUDGE CAN NOT CONVICT A PERSON IF IT IS NOT BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBT.

FALSE IDENTITY OF THE DRIVER + NO FACTUAL DETERMINATION BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBT = TICKET DISMISSED

IM GLAD I DIDNT LISTEN TO NONE OF THESE GENIUSES ABOVE LOL

you ever talk to someone IN PERSON and it's clear they think they

know what they're talking about, but in fact they do not? NT is full of that.

you can't see these people so you just have a screen name and avatar to

go by but putting this much effort into responding when you ended up being

correct is just too much. congrats.

Congrats you're still a broad with a moron for a cousin.

Who said it wouldn't get dismissed? Everyone said it is technically your fault for being your car just like you acknowledged  you overly hype for nothing

OP, get a bunch of your thuggish looking friends to go stand outside of the judge's wife's work while eating an ice cream cone. It's all about intimidation.
