Please consider supporting relief and recovery efforts in the Philippines in the wake of Super Typho

Alot of times we hear about these disasters and donate to help the recovery effort.
But many times after we donate we kinda wash our hands of the whole situation, or just let it slip completely from out minds.

But for the people affected that is not an option. Some of the victims' entire lives have been turned upside down, and families torn apart.
These people are suffering and need our help.

Just think about the last time you had a big storm in your area, and the electricity in your crib was off for a few days, and how you felt.
Now just imagine that, that storm wiped your entire home away along with your entire Jordan collection and everything else
that you love, including family members. Unfortunately that is a reality for many of the people of the Philippines.

So as this holiday season draws nearer, and you are saving up to get your Taxis, Gammas, or Black/Red 1s, or PS4 or Xbox One,
put a little to the side for our friends in the Philippines. Every little bit counts.

If we work together, I am more than positive that we can at the very least raise $5000. And I will do everything I can to make sure we reach that goal.
So starting from $3000, I will donate an additional $50 for every $1000 raised for as long as I can.

Just spreading the word. My friend Jackie is trying to get her sick elderly parents back home to the US after surviving the brunt of the storm in tacloban.

Check the link for her story on Anderson cooper last night. Sorry not sure how to post videos from my phone.

Not sure if any of you watched this or cared, but my friend's parents are now safe and in Manila trying to get back to the states. Her parents were on AC360 last night as well. At least her story has a happy ending, but there are so many others that don't.

Donated. It's hard to see the people in my homeland like this. Great to see the support.

If you didn't receive a badge, it's likely that you forgot to place your username in the comments section as instructed in the topic post.

We can still verify your donation if you send an email to our support account from the address used to make the contribution.

Donated. Much respect to Meth and the rest of NT! Seeing us as a community come together is truly great! My prayers go out to those affected.

Donated, but I forgot to put a comment so I'll just shoot you guys an email.

My mom was actually in the Philippines when the typhoon occurred but thankfully she was in an unaffected area. My prayers go out to all those affected by the typhoon and I'm happy that NT is doing something like this to help out.

I felt the need to give aid and knew to come here to do it. One of the reasons I am still a member of the NT family :D

Just donated. Im half filipino so on behalf of them..Thank You to all who have donated. :nthat:

Thanks to your generosity, we're receiving the highest average donation of any drive we've ever held here on NT.

13 members have given $100 or more.

48 of you have contributed $25-99 - and another 48 have donated $10-24.

As we try and reach more people, here are two good reasons to mention this drive to those who aren't even members of NikeTalk:
  1. We're going to match all donations made to our Mercy Corps page through December 11th, up to a total of $10,000 - effectively doubling donations.
  2. A friend or family member's donation can increase your badge level.  All they need to do is include your username in the comments section and you'll get credit for it.
We're now just $321 shy of the $4,000 mark.  Who will put us over the top?
