It's obvious, if only from the [thread="329409"]Carlos Boozer Is Single Handedly Keeping Black Ice In Business[/thread]  thread, that our community is filled with talented artists and graphic designers.

With our latest community fundraiser now underway, I thought it would be a good idea to see if we can marshal some of that talent for good.

We're currently in need of THREE different badges to award to contributors:

- A standard badge for supporters at the $10-24 level

- A special badge for contributors at the $25-99 level

- An elite badge for donors at the $100+ level

The basic badge should fit right in with those from our previous fundraisers:

The special badge should be a little larger, though no larger in size than the special badge from our Somalia fundraiser:

This was the highest level badge awarded last time.  Changes in the platform have reduced its stature a bit, since everything has to fit into the same basic box size:

What we're looking for, then, are badges that are differentiated by design rather than by size.  We'd much rather have the design tell the story than have something explicitly say "elite contributor", etc. - and that's why we'd prefer to entrust the task to those with talent.

If we're absolutely crushed for time, I can cobble something together as I have for previous fundraisers - but that's nobody's preference.

Great badge designs make for better incentives, so your work will literally help us raise more money for disaster relief efforts in the Philippines.

Since we are pressed for time, the selections won't be subject to user vote or anything terribly elaborate.  If we see something we love, we'll use it.

If you'd like to submit a design anonymously, just send me a PM or you can email the support account,

Thanks to anyone and everyone interested in helping us make this latest fundraiser a success!

The sooner the better.

I'd like to add these by tomorrow night.  The abbreviated news cycle leaves us with a fairly short window of opportunity before collective attention shifts to something else.  Disaster relief fundraisers tend to peak pretty quickly, and the higher quality incentives the better we're likely to do.  People are likely to view the fundraising post ONCE, so we want them to see what the incentives are and hopefully they'll help take someone from low interest to contributing, from giving $10 to giving $25+, etc. etc.

Thanks to everyone who's contributed thus far!

And just a word of advice for anyone considering a submission:

Please bear in mind that the image dimensions are ~ 108x75.   We need CLEAN, SIMPLE, and BOLD to make an impact in that space.  The more complicated the image, the less you'll be able to appreciate when resized to fit the badge dimensions.

That said, if you make something really beautiful in a large format, I'd be more than happy to display it on the fundraising page itself - we just won't be able to make it work as a badge.

I am not a graphics designer by ANY means but here is something I came up with.
Something simple that honors their flag.

If someone could put it in that crest I think it could look dope. *shrugs*

Thanks for all the submissions thus far!

Let's see if we can encourage some more members to participate.  There's no shortage of talent here.  I'd love to see it put to use in support of a great cause.

I wish I had the programs to get loose right now (on my work comp). But dudes are coming through with some nice design work!

 I like this one!

I need to learn how to do this stuff
There's no question that this logo looks fantastic in full resolution, but scaled down against a black background, you get this:

You can see how the dark blue loses clarity against the black and the detail is lost.  It becomes hard to read.

This is what I had mocked up before creating this thread:

You can see that it takes an element of the flag, but the text remains readable.

A more literal approach starts to get cluttered:
