I really liked the futuristic concept when I saw it at the NY Auto Show earlier this year, but I still dig it. Still looking to cop an 09-'10' for a winter beater though.

STI hasn't been announced yet, but it should arrive soon as it was being tested alongside with wrx. would be surprised if the STI was announced early 2014. i can't find anything other than the testing from october..

Looks like an Evo raw-dogged a Civic.
Wasn't excited over the concept, DEFINITELY not excited over the final product. The last generation looks so much better than this one.

im not gonna lie. this new STI is quickly growing on me. maybe its a combination of the colorway and wing and rims. This is FAR from boring to me especially when compared to WRX. personally my only real issue was the rear tail lights as it looked like the impreza which doesn't have the best back. otherwise, this is really growing me...fast.
the issue of appearance is the same i have with the new lexus IS. interior is probably one of the best interiors ever designed (all it needed was that 6 speed manual gearbox
) but the outside was suspect, and the front grill...even murdered out was still iffy. this 5th gen STI i can safely say id have no problem driving this down the street.
they should have stuck more with the concept, particularly with the back...but lettuce be cereal. u are NOT getting brembos, and i think they were 19s or 20s on a WRX. the concept wasn't even rally-able, which confused me when i saw it because subaru built the whole STI brand via the world rally championships it won over the years..

I was considering the new STi since the lease for my 335i is going to be up in september. After seeing this, I don't think I'm considering it anymore. The back is horrendous, the front looks like a ford fiesta, and the car looks like a mix of lancer, f30 3 series, and civic. All in all, looks way too boy racer-ish, and I'm getting a bit old for that now.

i don't see the civic in it anymore. or a ford fiesta. evo yes, but it depends on angle. otherwise it looks nothing like an evo. 3 series i see it with rear tail lights, from the side. i feel u on the too old for racer ish, tastes can def change
im starting to think a lot of the criticism is misplaced tho. this new 3 series had the same kind of hate, especially with that front, but it is selling well, and honestly, the 3 is a ripoff. lexus same thing. new IS is selling, but....
i mean cmon...
and look at these potential hits..
at the end of day, this STI needs to be seen in person for me to make final judgement. seeing a car in pics is never the same as seeing it in person, for better or for worse. The M3-5, EvoX, C class AMG are the only other motorsport cars that look great to me, but each have things design wise i wouldnt cosign.

i too was considering the new sti in the near future. not sure how i feel about it yet, would def need to see it in person. the front has grown on me but i cant get jiggy with the back yet and that wing seems od.
