retro shoes means nike sportswear division so basicly it was more lifestlyle instead performance shoes. same goes like this year zoom flight 'the glove' even they downgrade the shoes with taking off carbon fiber plate

really love the kobe line..Im fearing the worst with these though. Just seems like lack of pics/info on these making me lean towards very limited or EU exclusive. especially since we are getting close to RD

Im not too well versed in Kobes (I only like the 1s and 7s) But didn't they make a few variations of the Kobe 2s with and without straps ?

Nike Sportswear does Engineered Mesh, Flywire & Hyperfuse versions on a gang of Nike Air Max Retros ALL THE TIME.
Guess you forgot about that though...

If I have to jump through hoops to get them then I can pass on them. New look upper but it's not a dramatic change from the original, which I like better. What's that snakeskin texture or like marble?

In a piece of news that’s rather awe striking, it looks like the Nike Zoom Kobe 2 will be retro’ing…and much sooner that you would think. This is rather startling news for a few reasons. First off because most people have been waiting for a look at the Nike Kobe 9seeing that the Nike Lebron 11 and Nike KD 6 are in full swing with several colorways down. But then again we can’t expect to see a shoe that Kobe can’t fully test out while he’s injured. On another note many sneakerheads felt that the Nike Lebron 11 would retro first, even though Kobe is closer to retirement. Either way you look at it a Nike Basketball signature getting a retro is dope.
Apart from the why’s, why nots, and otherwise the shoe is quite exquisite. Releasing in 2006 originally, the Nike Zoom Kobe 2 will don a crowd pleasing “wolf grey” colorway. The grey will be in a smooth looking marble pattern accompanied by gold fixtures. As of now whispers say these will drop next month. Stay tuned for more on these as info become available.

They kinda look like a statue. Maybe "immortalizing" Kobe is the theme for the retroes.
These are OK, but I feel like the lifestyle route would've looked better on the Strength's. Keep the patent toe.
