Chicks even quicker to send pictures of the ******* and the box on here than they were in text messages..unknowing of the fact not everything disappears..

its only worth 20 if somebody is buying it for 20. who's buying it? If Zuckerberg cracks the code and creates his own again, snap will disappear just like vine.

Not going to happen, Snapchat has already showed the ability to turn its user base into revenue unlike all the other apps that have fallen off.

There is a reason Zuckerburg was offering 10 billion 2 years ago, stop it.

SnapChat's best bet is to not go public, it'll end up like Twitter in that realm.

This!

Also Facebook is an exception but these other new trendy platforms like vine, Twitter, snap, etc will all fade n be replaced soon just like relationships are now a days. Society is way too finicky nowadays to expect something as silly as snap chat to have longevity.

Haven't really noticed Vine's decline, boy Cinemagram disappeared like the XFL

I legit think Sports is the only thing keeping Vine afloat. I havent seen a single major vine since Game 7 of the Finals. NBA gave vine life.

What is longevity to you?

The company has already experienced explosive growth and has maintained it over 3 years.

It's become totally integrated in our society and has already showed profitability.

Are y'all even paying attention to the tech world?

Snapchat and Uber are pretty much the only sure things right now.

Lil Terrio saved Vine.

IG was bout to get them all the way out the paint

Once you hit 1 Billion whats the point? What could you possibly want to buy that you have to say nah i gotta hold off till I get that extra 5 billion...?
I would've took the 3 Billion. Grantee money > what if money. What is here today can be gone tomorrow. Word to Pied Piper lol

I don't see Twitter dying.

Twitter has a unique, indispensable offering that FB currently can't 100% crush. Twitter is the best at being the most real time, "live," raw source of what's happening now.

Facebook, although having more than 5x the amount of users as Twitter, can't directly compete because it's fundamentally a different social platform. Facebook is all about friends and family. And it's news feed algorithms must cater to that. Therefore the content of your timeline will always be influenced by your girl, best friend, mom, dad, grandma, etc. Whereas with Twitter, it's a completely open form of what's happening now.

IG has a similar platform to Twitter, being open, but it's a photo based app, which is fundamentally slower than 140 character tweet.

As a social media user, here is what I use:

Facebook : keep in touch with friends and family.

IG: The thirst, thots, and the occasional appreciation for good photography.

Twitter: The news. What's happening now in the world.

Snapchat: The most fun way to communicate with friends.

I think each of the above social platform offer a distinct service and value that is hard to consolidate.

What are everyone's thoughts?

And full disclosure, I ride hard for Twitter cause I work there. So I'd love to hear some objective thoughts on the future of Twitter from you guys.

Does Youtube count as a social media platform, if so they are the GOAT as far as longevity imo. They were genius with how much they let content creators make off of ad revenue and how they integrated that process into their site, instead of just putting up ads themselves and reaping the profits themselves. All the current creators depend on the site for their income and more and more people join and contribute content out of the hopes of making "youtube money." They have such a stronghold I don't think anyone else will take their place for a long time.

In its own right, yes. Vloggers host content on YT. Sites have video content, podcast visuals, etc.
