Whether y'all agree or disagree with the emphasis being placed on beats nowadays, they play an integral part in making someone decide if they wanna play your track out or cut that **** off 30-45 seconds in

If you can get good beats you can get people to listen regardless if you can actually rap or not

So with that said I figured we should have a discussion on who ya'll think has the Best/Worst ear

Best

Rick Ross- As far as best goes I think Rick Ross should be one of the first names mentioned, I'm not really even a fan of dude like that but I don't think anybody can deny he picks some of the best beats out whether it's an album or mixtape.

Game - Not really the biggest Game fan either save for his few couple albums but I have and will continue to consistently check for his music because I know he's gonna have some good beats

2 Chainz - Before he switched up he was the generic ATL rapper, after the switch he made his **** a little simpler and added in witty punchlines but the main thing was him picking good *** beats to do the heavy lifting. Even tho his latest album kinda flopped due to majority of his buzz being gone I still thought the production was still solid.

Juicy J - He was able to reinvent himself in a similar way to 2 Chainz by aligning himself with some good producers.

Gucci - Call me a stan, say he garbage etc. this ***** picks some damb good beats straight up

Worst

Jadakiss - I used to **** with dude tough and thought he would've been way bigger than he is now but I understand why, he just can't get good beats. And it's not like he just worked with bad producers, dude has worked with everybody and still just gets subpar beats

Nas  - This one was a given, arguably the best rapper but the beats he pick are downright atrocious sometimes. I can't even put in words the amount of struggle it is trying to get some ****** in the South listen to Nas go in over a weak *** beat

Canibus  - Another dude with bars for days that can't pick a good beat to save his life

I'll prolly add more as I think of them, who y'all got?

French Montana

Curren$y

Action Bronson

Willie The Kid

Ras Kass - another highly lyrical rapper with wack beat selection

it tends to be rappers that can't hold their own with their words that have the nicest beats,

so when rappers like Action Bronson come along its even more ill

Best

Ghostface

Jay-Z

Fat Joe

Worst

Eminem

Ice Cube(after his 3rd album)

Cole would be so much better if he switched to beats with a little more pace to them. Cole on KRIT type production would be dope

Best
02 - 05 Dipset
Ross
French Montana when he's on Harry Fraud's ****
Game

Honorable mention, Beanie Sigel. I always thought his ear for beats was underrated.

Worst
J Cole
Current Eminem

Nas should face criminal charges for some of his beat selections.

Remember this?

And it'll never be finished...what a waste.

Best: pusha, gucci, ross, game, jay
Worst: nas, nas, nas and nas

Worst
J Cole
Current Eminem

Yep, dudes who produce for themselves, but to defend Em a little. His production sort of fits him. You will never find someone else rapping over his beats.

Best: pusha, gucci, ross, game, jay
Worst: nas, nas, nas and nas

Take away Gucci and add A$ap

I don't think Jada, Beans and Freeway have good ears for beats either. Freeway and Beans were helped out a lot by having the in house team.

Off the top

Best : BERNER (I stamp, best ear for beats in rap music today no joke), yung lean, lil b, dom Kennedy, rocky, jay, dipset, Game, wiz, mellow high, french, pusha, underachievers, delasean

Worst: Dizzy wright (HUUUGE disappointment on the latest mixtape), Tyler the creator, nas, sir Michael rocks, j Cole, fat trel, chief keef

Best:

-Khalifa used to have a really good ear for beats.
-So did Jeezy.
-Ross

Worst:

-Eminem
-50 cent

Worst is Canibus and Ras Kass. They can never get it right.

Best is tough to say because everybody has their ups and downs. But if I had to say right now it would be Ross because he made people actually like him as a rapper his beat selection is so good. Dude's literally rapped one song and has done the same song like 800,000 times over sick *** beats.

Damn I'm shocked people are saying J Cole I thought _'s liked his production?

I'll agree with him on the worst list tho some of his beats sound too much alike and are just overall kinda boring imo. I've heard people say the same thing about Krit's beats tho and I love his production so *Ye Shrug*

Eminem definitely has some of the worst beats also

How y'all feel about Lupe? To me his **** is real hit or miss and as of late there's been more misses than hits

I would say Dom overall has one of the best ears. I will say tho although I purchased GHS and it's in the whip right now some of the beats are a drop off from his previous work
