One of the most talented guys out there making amazing music. Of course "Wake me up" got popular but thats because of Avicci's corny remix.

But of course guys like Miguel are popular :smh: Makes no damn sense to me..

You guys might know his old stuff, this is some of his new stuff..

Edit - Vevo wont let me embed his videos to his new songs off his new EP

Link to his youtube page - Link

and my favorite performance..

Discovered this guy a few years back when I watched How To Make It In America on HBO. Theme song could arguably be the best part of the show...

Dude can flat out sing.

He used to rap as well, he can spit. Check out his early music. If you like this, check out the OG Lee Fields.

repped OP for the Aloe Blacc thread. I tell everyone if they get a chance to, go see him live. He always puts on such amazing shows. He might even do a show for free:

Dude is definitely appreciated, but I don't think he wants to be a mainstream artist with the likes of Miguel. That Wake Me up definitely caught me by surprise, since he didn't really push anything buzzworthy after I need a dolla

Discovered him listening to the first Jazz Liberatorz album. Dude is dope and been doing it.  You sound stupid with the Miguel slander though. If I stumbled across this thread and had never heard of him I wouldn't even bother to check him out because of that.

Does anyone know where that bass line from "love is the answer" is sampled from?
It's so damn familiar... the best I could come up with is a reworked bass line from eric b's paid in full, but I'm not so sure about that lol.

I'm not sure if it's exact, but the bass line reminds me of Dennis Edward's Don't Look Any Further which was also used by Junior Mafia... Aloe Blacc is definitely appreciated. I've posted a lot of his stuff in the r&b thread...

reps up psk2310. I had at first thought junior mafia, so I checked "Get Money", but it turns out it was the remix that sampled the Dennis Edwards track. Also, according to whosampled, paid in full did sample the same track as well, so I wasn't completely off! lol

Aloe Blacc - Billie Jean & Momma Hold My Hand

Blacc reminds me a bit of Bill Withers... He has that same melancholy tone when singing but he has more range that Withers.

Here are some gems I came across not too long ago. Not many singers can sound this good with a string quartet.

repped op i thought that I need a dollar joint was some ol school joint i never heard when i first peeped it in fight night
