Can't wait to see what he does with the creative freedom. The Rick Owens,Rafs,JS Wings and a few pair of Y-3 are all dope to me, so I know its possible for adidas to make cool shoes lol. I also know Kanye can make dope shoes without Nike (LV'S and Giuseppes) so we shall see what comes of this. Hopefully its not just shoes but apparel too.

So I'm sitting on a pair of solars...wonder how value on those would be affected...might just sell....

Dudes who got red Octobers are sitting on $$$

We wear the same size breh :nerd:

Very interested to see what Ye does with Adidas and how many shoes they let him design.

Hope Nike just mass produces the Red Octobers. Have to respect the royalties daughter reason though.

according to what Parker said they should

not only would it be a power move, it clearly enforces what Parker said

they claim to not attach the "coolness of athletes/artists" to products
but strive for innovation

the yeezy line accomplishes the former and not the latter
a rather average looking shoe, comparable to $80 casual nike wear

Kanye is an expert at talking about his "genius", and selling it to people
the worse he can do to nike is make his fans jump ship from Nike to whatever is "his genius"

doing so, he would not only sell his new idea, but has a whole lot of room to play
with an "us" vs "them" argument

if there's no back door plan, Nike's best bet is to make it a gr, which will help in the long run

Why doesn't kanye just do his own line of shoes and apparel so he'll have all the freedom in the world? He has the money for it

Some of you dudes are oblivious.

It's 30 degrees in NYC right now and there's already a line in soho for some New Balance that come out on Friday.
sick.gif
. new balance? jesus christ.

For those of us not familiar with the lingo,
What does the "30Sku's" mean?
SKU stands for stock keeping unit. Every item has a SKU number attached to it. So basically he would got to design 30 products for nike.

I'm listening to hot97 and they are playing a podcast interview they did with him, my dude says a lot of **** I can ***** with, but he goes off the chart and says some other ***** that I just SMH at, my dude just said Jordan is relevant because of him and Don C....

Wut?...

I mean lets be real this sounds like a business deal right?

1. Yeezy don't need more money to "support his daughter". I'm sure he can do that just fine with the money he has.

But that being said. Nike said...look we pay you for the design and take the royalties thats how we do business since you aren't a pro athlete. Ye says ok i want royalties (which anyone in his position would say). Nike says na fambs....kanye says bye nike hello Adidas.

That sounds like a normal business difference and solutions. Nike ain't sweating not having any more yeezys. Adidas is going to get some hype now when the new Yeezi drops. Sounds pretty fundamental.

But no Kanye isn't going to ever be bigger then wal-mart he can't be that delusion right? Kanye dish washer detergent? Kanye paper towels? Kanye product going to single handily support third world countries economy?

You know I was trying to word it better, and what I should have said was certain higher ups but in I already said it.

So I take that back and I don't want to offend people from those groups and I should have worded that.

But...

It is true...

50 thought he was bigger than Jimmy Iovine and look what that got him.

I think Kanye is might end up with the same faith if he doesn't put out quality music.

I hope he doesn't though and stunts on all these bastards word to the dude that invented the Super Soaker water gun.

Where is your avy from?

I don't know I got it from the booty thread and ran with it lol...

This N is going to learn when you mess with certain Jews and White's at certain levels you can kiss your *** goodbye.

This is a terrible way of thinking and exactly why I'm glad Kanye is going so hard doing what he's doing.

It's horrible to think we "N's" should just put our heads down around certain Jews and whites and take what we are lucky to get.

We need more Nipsey Hussles and Kanyes of the world that know their worth and that the corporations cannot and won't connect to people without culture.

That avatar is :pimp: though.

I understand what you're saying not waiting around for table scrapes, but I think Kanye went about this the wrong way. Like I said 50 thought he was bigger then Jimmy Iovine and the whole Interscope and look where he's at now.

He was on Hot97 talking with Angie Martinez and and Kim I couldn't listen though dude's ego is on a hundred trillion for real.

I can't believe I'm saying this but his B was more tolerable than him.

This N is going to learn when you mess with certain Jews and White's at certain levels you can kiss your *** goodbye.

He was on the radio talking like Nike, Gucci, LV, and all these other worldwide brand needed him and should be to his every beacon call.

I'm not saying dude isn't influential, but I think he's overestimating his pull, power, and selling power.

We'll see how this works out...

You guys think when he said that little jab he said when he performed and said the Yeezy's jumped over the Jumpman or some crap like that and it might not have rubbed MJ or the higher ups at Nike the right way because ever since that I don't think his relationship with them has been good.

What was his issue with Nike though that they weren't releasing his kicks or something I don't understand...

:smh:

As I said I should have worded that better and I apologize for those harsh words but in the end it's the truth. Minorities are not the one's running **** and what we do run we screw over our own to put ourselves in a higher and better position. Puff did it, Jay did it and the list goes on and on. I'm just saying what it is... but bluntly.

I think Kanye really is shooting himself in the foot lately with his actions. He doesn't seem like he is someone that is easy to work with and I think that will lessen other opportunities for him because others might be weary of working with him in the future.

I just heard Bill Maher say that The 4 richest people in America now are heirs to the Walmart empire.

This is no light task

I think Nike is the only brand that can work. No one is gonna line up for Adidas, Reebok, Li Ning (you've gotta be kidding me). I would have to say, as the self-proclaimed LV Don, that would be the next best fit.

Side note: It would be interesting to see a Kanye-Asics collabo.
this

adidas has already slutted out their name with rappers, its nothing special for kanye to join adidas or reebok unless he gets a Y3 collab

the nike collab was so special because its Nike (everyone loves Nike) and kanye, and no other rapper has their own shoe with the swoosh

kanyes best bet is to go high end with any brand, itll sell out quick especially if they keep production numbers low

Saw this yesterday...

Not gonna lie, I've always liked a few Adidas like the gazelles. Use to rock em as a youngin and about to get a couple pair. I know this is NIKEtalk so flame suit on.

Adidas use to be the brand on top and Nike was "the white man's running brand".

Each brand makes good products and could be good for Kanye though. Nike is just more popular.

What he really needs to do is start his own brand. I know he's got the stacks and followers for it to be successful.

"Nike is as big as Apple to the hood, because of Jordan and also because me and Don C were wearing those Jordans when the soles were falling off."

Partly true. Don C doesn't hold any real trendsetting power, but celebrities like Ye have kept the Jordans relevant once Jordan retired and the quality followed suit. Jordan is surviving off of strong brand reputation, not off of the quality of the shoes or Michael Jordan's endorsement of the brand in 2013. People like Kanye and Wale and other celebs definitely deserve a little bit of credit for helping Nikes sales, especially in the inner city, sometimes moreso than the athletes.

Wale is indirectly responsible for Nike coming out with STD Foams and all those extra colors, so in a way you might be able to say he sold more pairs of the Foams than Penny did (I'm not going to say that for certain because I don't know the numbers obviously but you see where I'm going). How many people who weren't around to see him play know who Penny Hardaway is? Nike owes a lot of their NSW/Jordan successes to celebrities. People like Wale, Ye, etc. helped start this "everyone is a 'sneakerhead'" phase that has bruhs skipping Thanksgiving for sneakers.
