Just wanna say I appreciate the replies so far.

Reason for me going is that i'm about to end my career as a grad student before going off on externships and I wanted to use this time to get a feel for some cities that I may eventually reside in as well as treat myself to something I'll remember.

:nthat:

In my opinion , this ain't a place to live or raise kids (education system is 49th in the state), I plan on moving to Dallas after I finish school .

These hotel prices for All Star Weekend? :x I'm not trying to stay all the way out in Slidell and have to drive in

I already got my game tickets for all 3 nights but ran into a situation, might have to sell and cancel the whole trip :x

Got my tickets In the mail today. Straight to stubhub since I'm probably not going, would be a clutch last minute decision but it's leaning towards no. Somebody hmu if you're trying to go, 1 upper level ticket to each event and I got 2 lower levels to the BBVA Rising Stars, not trying to make a profit on them

**** it, might go, but what's up with a hotel for under 2bills? Think I might airbnb it although I had a bad experience with that in NYC (Harlem)

If you decided to go hit me up when you get to the city. Ill be out there getting F'd up plus tons of yambs will be there.

Where at? I still haven't decided where I want to stay because these prices are disgusting for hotels that weekend

Depends on if my boys want to ball out of control at metro, republic, or eiffel. But bourbon St going to be straight regardless with the amount of drinks and yambs out there.

What was ur bad experience if u dont mind I ask? Reason being, I booked wit them for my upcoming chicago trip, and would like to know if something I can avoid. Thanks

Wasn't airbnb's fault, was the host.

I ended up having to book a spot last minute because the deal I had arranged with somebody off CL for their place in Hoboken, NJ fell through. No problem, get on and search NYC and full apartment because I'm not trying to be in a strange city sharing a place with a bunch of strangers. I ended up booking the Comfort Stay from this really nice lady from Cameroon, on 122nd street. Well when I get there, turns out her daughter surprised her and is town for the weekend so she went ahead and gave her the apartment that I had booked. She didn't want me to leave her a bad feedback on airbnb for it and even if she did go in and refund me, it wouldn't have been instant anyways. She tells me she has a bunkbed behind the living room I can stay for 20 bucks. I'm like **** it, just need to get somewhere and settle down so I gave her 80 for the 4 days.

It's literally a curtain behind the living room couch forming a fake room where there's a bunkbed, like literally the kind for 10 year olds. AND my big 250lb *** has to get the top because she has a webmaster who makes her websites and does all her airbnb/hostels.com etc listings for her in exchange for free rent so he sleeps on the bottom. Whatever, not so bad, doesn't seem like a big place and she was again very nice, had some food and toiletries she bought me. Fine, not so bad, doesn't seem like a big place so it's not like it's too many people I'm sharing with. WRONG! NYC buildings are weird that way to me, seems small when you're in them but there's a million doors off the living room that go to different rooms and stairwells and ****, so as the night progresses there's tons of people just in and out going off into different wings of the house and my uncomfortable self is just sitting on the top bunk. **** it, finally got some sleep and woke up the next morning early so I could get the shower first, went and did my thing in the city, decided I wasn't coming back to that so I jumped on priceline.com name your own'd, ended up getting the Hilton in Newark for like 55 and stayed there the rest of the trip

Any other spots worth checking out other than Bourbon St, or is it best to stay in the area? My sister said it's bad in some areas. Luckily I get to hit all 3 events of the All Star Weekend thanks to my sister's connect. There's a Crossover party at the W hotel in the french quarter this Sunday. It's thrown by the same people that hold the Do Over event in LA.

Could your sister connect hook me up to ?????

But everything downtown going to be straight. So many random people are going to hosting parties and French Quarter would be a good spot to check out.

Sorry bro, it was difficult for my sister to even get extra tickets for me. Even though I'm going the seats are upper level
