2014 NBA Draft Thread

This is it. The basketball gods are shining down on the Bucks this year. Even though they tried to put together another bunch of average players together to lock up that 8/9 spot in the East the injuries have been consistent all year. Hell, maybe at this point they're already embracing tanking the season because of this draft class. Currently on an 11 game losing streak :smokin

I can see it now, we draft Wiggins/Parker. Giannis pans out and becomes as good as they say he will be. Moving forward we'll have a starting 5 of Knight, Wiggins/Parker, Giannis, Henson, and Sanders. It'll be the tallest, longest, and most athletic starting 5 in the NBA.

Fans are even pushing to put this up as a billboard in the city of Milwaukee

If you like watching teams aimlessly hand the ball off around a WNBA 3 point line for 36 seconds

Exactly, I feel like the 36 second rule is too long, especially when NCAA teams typically run the clock down then run the play in the final 10-15 seconds, take a shot, end up with the offensive rebound, then do it all over again.

Parker's game (and size) reminds me more of a more athletic Kevin Love
I just don't see that. Parker has more guard/wing tendencies and qualities. Sticking with Paul pierce personally. Iq footwork handles not overly athletic but very crafty (already with his back to the basket) and will have a few flashes here and there of athleticism on the next level

There would be some serious public outrage at first atleast by a team's fanbase if they traded Wiggins, Parker or Randle for picks 6 and 10. I'll take the 2003 draft for example...you could end up trading LeBron, Melo or Bosh/D-Wade for Chris Kaman and Jarvis Hayes.

Or you could be trading away Darko

That's why I said "at first atleast"...but I mean we aren't talking about some Euro big man in the top 4 picks that we've never even seen play before.

I'm asking this out of ignorance here because I have only seen parts of a couple of his games, but what is so impressive about Wiggins again? I've watched Jabari and Randle this year and it's plainly obvious why they are hyped up, they stand out from the other players on the floor. Both games I've watched Wiggins has done zero that would make me think he was the best prospect since Lebron if people hadn't told me such. I understand trying to find his role and whatnot, but come on now. I understand he may be talented but there's a lot of guys in the league who are talented and it goes to waste. If you don't have he mentality to take over a game or assert yourself all of that talent won't do you much good. When I've watched Parker and Randle, they get the ball and go to work and make plays for themselves or their teammates; is Wiggins not that kind of player or has he just not found his role yet?

Uh ohh don't direct him to the College Basketball thread...they post in there way more than him so their opinion means more!

That thread is loaded with unpaid traveling unofficial high school basketball scouts apparently.

Hahahhaa well it's a complete discourse in my opinion. Definitely displays how polarizing wiggins is and also I think a lot of good points on both sides of the discussion.

McGary is going to creep back up the boards once he catches up with game speed and conditioning. Had no preseason because of injury.

That athleticism :x.

Klay Thompson form, Westbrook hops.

Shooting 57% on threes so far this season.

:nerd:

Jordan Adams is underrated.

Seems many forgot about Kyle Anderson. Underwhelming frosh campaign.

Great length, but no way in hell does Lavine have Westbrook bounce.

LaVine looking bouncy, like the jumper too.

Definitely not Russ level athleticism but who is really?

Kyle Anderson was stuck in a terrible situation last year and just didn't play well on top of that. He had premium size as a primary ball handler but what is his position at the next level really? Cause he can't play PG
