I think there's a misconception about Nike's use of genuine, full-grain leather -- especially back in the golden age of the 90's. A lot of the material used on lots of those models was actually synthetic. I don't think a lot of guys realize that.

While those originals were better quality than these retros we've had in recent years -- especially Jordans -- it's not like those OGs were bulletproof and always made from the richest, most expensive materials. As much as I love that time period for kicks, I think it's been idealized and exaggerated a little bit.

All that being said, I'm definitely satisfied by the quality of these Maroons.

I also agree, these 6s are of a higher build. The side panels are thick cut pieces of cow hide. Overall a step into the right direction. Are they worth 220? 240 including tax... No.

nope, Nike Air doesn't influence my buying decision. 

i wonder if they are going to do more 6s tho, we're already pretty much got all the OG cw these past two years. as long as the paint on both of my infrared 6s hold up without chipping away i don't think i'll be buying even if they have NA on the back. 
 
I know I'm very late to the party due to insufficient funds, lol, but do you guys know of any place I can grab these at retail still? Specifically a size 9.5? Thanks guys!
 
Just saw these in my local mall. The leather quality squats on all 6s releases as of late, even the Spike Lee pair. It's funny because the mall only had one pair of chrome 8s left. 8s are popular in Maryland

The leather isn't that great. Give me Motorsport 6 leather.

It's been awhile so go to your local store and stock locate. A FTL champs etc should be able to locate and order it for you
 
So I saw that thin line of paint cracking on the back of mine and saw where somebody here said theirs got worse over a few wears so I figured I'd return and snag maybe layer on for cheaper cause 237 got to me...well I went on nike chat 2 nightsago and told them to email a return label and told em bout the thin cracking on back heel and they said they would do me good...belive it or not they refunded me all my money and told me happy holidays and to keep them. I must of been chatting with the best person ever there....the money is already in my account just checked...can't believe it!

celebs arent dropping in there everyday. and theyre def not dropping in there often enough to affect how FC prices their kicks. if they priced shoes based solely on that, theyd go bankrupt. FC prices are high because they do mostly consignment. so they have to raise the price to compensate for the % fee they are charging for selling people's kicks. that way, FC makes a profit and the owner of the shoe doesnt get screwed in their profit.

So why are Rif and SS cheaper than FC then, I thought the resellers how carry their shoes to FC set the price they want them to sell at.

rif is purposely cheaper than FC. thats like their thing or something lol. and no, resellers dont set the prices for FC. FC even has whiteboards with a list of kicks and prices employees are to tell people who bring their kicks in. they also have a do not accept list for shoes they no longer accept etc.

I only remember seeing 1 person in my town (400k people) wearing them back in the day. And that was a kid on another basketball team because the maroon matched their school colors.

Pretty much everyone wanted the black/infrared.

My younger brother had the OG pair back in the day. That nostalgia was a big driver in why I picked them up this time around. That and Larry David haha.
 
I went a half size down on these and hadn't bought a pair of 6's since the CDP carmines....11.5 us perfect. Size 12 would have been too big.
