Just that the UFC will give favoritism to its stars so in this case if JJ really wants the Stipe fight they are going to give it to him even if it goes against them having a deserving IC holder in Tom. But I would agree that likely 99% of fans don't care about Stipe's legacy and the Jones fight has even less steam than it did last year. So yes I did mistake your statement for the UFC as a whole favoring stars and letting them sometimes call their shots.

Oh yeah totally they are giving Jones what he wants. That’s my mistake for questioning why stipe and Jones are attached at the hip. We know that’s because Jon wants it

So my hate should be directed at Jones

I still hold to my opinion on stipe about everything else tho. It’s crazy how Jones is going to get legacy credit for beating him tbh

Cool win. But it’s not some kind of historic win that it’ll be made out to be in the record books

I could see Jones Tom in America still doing more numbers than stipe

I could also see Jon willing to fight in England would do crazy business

Stipe ain’t the big fight you’re making it out to be, it’s only a big fight in Jon’s eyes

Jon stipe will still be a big fight but mostly because of Jon

If stipe fought any other hw not named Tom, people would most likely call it weak if it headlined a ppv

If Jon is gonna retire, him going out in a soccer stadium and smoking Tom the highest touted prospect right now holds much more value in eyes then beating Stipe at MSG. A Stipe that literally no one cares about.

Jon vs Alex does the most PPV's
Jon vs Stipe second based of stipes name and longevity in the UFC, and he's got that first responder/blue collar crowd on lock
Jon vs Tom third (USA vs UK)

Outside of Purists, casuals have NO IDEA who Tom is.

No one working at ESPN knows who Tom Aspinal is
