If he had to stop sparring for weeks I think that’s pretty noteworthy
 
Look forward to seeing Johnny Walker out there again.

For the main event at 244 they are obviously trying to get Conor again (maybe against winner of Pettis-Nate) or Bones (also not sure of his opponent with DC fighting in a couple weeks which would be somewhat of a short layoff for him and Reyes booked against Weidman in Oct).

Just watched the Covington-Lawler fight yesterday, Colby's volume and constant pressure is impressive but all his punches are pillow soft and he didn't go for subs either. I could see him and Usman trading in the pocket since both of their wrestling skillsets could cancel out. I think Usman has slightly more power and takes a decision to hold onto his title.

Colby was going for them subs in the first but he couldn't get that choke locked in and just said f it :lol: Lawler tucked his chin pretty good, other dudes would have been choked out by those dominant positions

Yeah Colby aint got no power :lol: but depending on his wrestling vs Usman's, Colby could still win that way. I am intrigued at the matchup
 
He has a troll persona that might not even really be him. It’s a **** act but he does that for a purpose, there’s probably a reason Jorge was/is good friends with him

With that said even if he really is a douche, he didn’t get to this caliber by accident
 
Luke Thomas' take on the diff between Usman and Covington- Colby likes to strike at range and wrestles to neutralize while Usman likes to ground and pound

I feel like if Colby beats Usman him and Jorge are gonna make up some fake drama to try and sell their fight.

That's the most ridiculous part about his "schtick", it's not like he's actually selling ****. And he's been passed up for title shots by dudes like Till & Usman, so it's not like it's pushing him to the front of the line easier. The "trying to sell tickets" logic falls flat when you look at the bottom line.
 
Colby needs a foil. Could have been Woodley, it could be Usman. These other opponents didn't feed into the trash talk

I don't know the numbers on Chael pre-Anderson, but, yeah, you get someone like Woodley or Usman, who aren't in on the joke, it could push Colby into that drawing space. Not saying it's a forgone conclusion by any means
 
I'm officially cutting the cord in November then... looks like a great deal. That plus Netflix and HBO is like 40 bucks a month. Deuces cable.
