The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- UFC 300 ON NOW

Apparently Nick Diaz was at the weigh ins talking smack, saying he could make the weight and step in by 3am

Unless GSP comes back right away, Diaz gets the next shot at the title. He showed up at the weigh-ins today and heckled Hendricks, he's gonna show up tomorrow and talk smack to Ariel Helwani or whoever else is reporting about the champ at 170 lbs, social media is gonna eat it up, and UFC is gonna buy into it and give him the shot. And today Dana already backed out of saying the Condit/Woodley fight was for #1 contender although both fighters said they were promised that it was earlier this week.

A complete joke, equal to that of carano getting an immediate title shot at rousey's title.

About hendricks missing weight, he now has an excuse if he loses or performs poorly hahaha. I can tell a lot of people pick hendricks over lawler, cause he didn't get a lot of criticism from missing weight even if it's 'not his fault'. Just an observation.

Yeah it's pretty obvious that the pecking order comes second to the big name match ups.

Dana opened the floodgates when he let Chael fight Jones.

At this point, fighters should know better than to believe dana when he says they are next in line if they win. Dude is a lying, bald weasel.

rousey is also full of crap. She's been ducking cyborg for years but will happily give Gina an immediate shot. So dumb, at least cyborg is still actively fighting.

Its not just the immediate shot for Gina but she said she's willing to fight her at a catchweight. For a while now her biggest excuse for not fighting Cyborg was that she had to make it down to her at 135 lbs. But now she's willing to do it for Gina who hasn't fought in almost 5 or 6 years. But I guess they're doing what every business person is taught. Protect your investment.

I'd say a good 10-20 lbs was just water weight. Probably drank some pediasure or coconut water and gained it all back.

^It does take a lot of energy. You can normally tell when a fighter has a bad cut. They have no energy and get fatigued really quickly. If you're interested in the stuff do they to cut weight you can watch the Tim Boetsch cut video that was on Inside MMA. I'll see if I can find it.

Edit: Here...

Didn't realize the prelims weren't showing of FS1. Guess I'll be missing out on them too since comcast here doesn't offer FS2.
Mike Dolce: ‘Johny’s already back up to 195 pounds, heading out for a steak’
Following a crazy day, full of weighty issues, famed dietitian and Johny Hendricks coach, Mike Dolce, gave some time to BJPENN.COM to discuss what went wrong at today’s UFC 171 weigh-ins.

Mike told BJPENN.COM Director, Pedro Carrasco, that Johny made the weight easy and is currently sitting comfortably 25-pounds over the UFC’s welterweight limit of 170lbs.

Here it is:
Just talked to @TheDolceDiet  – He said Johny made weight easy, he's already back up to 195lbs and headed out for a steak! @ufc  #UFC171

Just got home and ordered the card.

Already drank my pain away after the UConn loss, hope I make it to the Main Event...
