Bendo is going to call quick stoppage

Reminds me of when Mir went out to Barnett. Benson was clean out, no doubt about it, even if it was just for a flash.

It was though. Note: Quick, early stoppage. Not incorrect or unwarranted.

I hear ya. Obviously was early. In MMA, one punch can end anyone's night. I just think refs are expected to give dude's with Benson's history a shot to get their senses back. It didn't seem like Big John's call sat well with him in the post-fight interview.

But even still, RDA was there ready to finish the job.

I've been waiting and expecting someone to KO/TKO Benson just so he can change his fighting style. Maybe that's just the push he needs.

On the lighter side, maybe now he knows not to fight with facial hair. August last year he did the same with Pettis, and you know the result. :D

Still a fan though.

RDA gave henderson that work? Nice. Been waiting to see him get ko'ed.
It wasn't a KO in my book, but RDA definitely knocked him silly and could have ended it with ground and pound if the ref didn't stop it. I would have liked to see Benson get a chance to recover, but RDA earned that victory no doubt. I just don't think he was out like RDA said he was.

I would like to see RDA go against Khabib next, but if Khabib is still injured then sure Bobby. I would like to see Bobby Green get Edson Barboza or Michael Johnson.

UFC 177 next week looks

I thought Khabib just beat RDA? Doubt they'd fight again this quickly.

RDA just beat the #1 guy. He's beaten Cerrone recently. Curious to see how this plays out. I'm guessing if Alvarez wins he'll get the next shot. But if Cerrone wins, is RDA the next logical contender?

Yep, Khabib dominated RDA, completely forgot about that

The Eddie/Cowboy winner most likely gets a title shot

If Cowboy wins, you can't deny that streak, which have all been finishes thus far. I've ******* on Cowboy for getting decimated by Bendo (twice), Nate Diaz, Pettis and RDA but you have to give him credit for fighting every other month which has allowed him to get right back into contendership. He's put together a nice streak and if he defeats Alvarez, Cowboy becomes the logical #1 contender

If Eddie wins you can market it pretty good. Almost like champion vs. champion type

If RDA beats another top 10 guy he has to be the next #1 contender

No surprise, but I disagree. Again, streaks don't mean much to me. 4 wins in a row over guys who haven't sniffed the top 5 of the division just isn't an overwhelming argument for a title shot.

Even your reply, where you list all the elite fighters he's LOST to while making a case for him getting a title shot speaks volumes.

Obviously 4 wins in a row against anyone in MMA deserves respect. But only the quality of those fighters determines how close you are to a title shot.

Eddie, while highly regarded, and a fighter I like a lot, is the latest fighter from another org, who hasn't been fighting the best of the best for years.

If he wins, it's marketable as champ vs. champ.

But if Cerrone wins, he's beaten a fighter I'd say none of us is 100% sure of just based on the level of comp he's fought.

I don't know how you justify making Cerrone #1 contender over a guy who beat him and just stopped the #1 guy who also happens to be a former UFC champion.

But as we've seen, logic is not a factor in these matters

If Cerrone beats Eddie, I'm sure he'll get the shot because he's more marketable in 'Murica than RDA. But certainly not because he has the stronger credentials. UFC hype machine been in effect talking title shot for Cerrone since he beat.....Jim Miller

Yeah when it comes to the fight game, boxing or MMA, you don't always have the most logical matches come to fruition, it's all about the $$$

I will say that if RDA was more "marketable" or if he had at least half the charisma as McGregor, RDA would be next in line

I was calling for Cowboy to fight the winner of RDA/Bendo to have to avenge a loss in order to get the title shot. It's Alvarez instead, I can't be too mad at that. I understand why others would be skeptical about that scenario. Miller and Barboza may not be top 5 guys but they're for sure top 10. Streaks don't mean much to me either but his streak isn't watered down or anything, especially if he were to defeat Alvarez (who has always been top 5 in the world even though he's not been in the UFC)
