The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- UFC 300 ON NOW

You still salty he beat bj twice when he was the lightweight king. Seeing bj sad after their first fight in the desert was nice.

 That burned my soul brah

Still think BJ should have gotten that decision

But it was his own damb fault for not trying to take Frankie down more

Watching Frankie swag all over him in the rematch was tough. Went to car and had a good cry |I

My peeps had to come get me, and walk me back in the house. Had me like

Before the decision was announced I could tell by penn's body language that he didn't think he was going to win the scorecards. Like he knew the L was coming.

Oh I see. I didn't realize this exchange was part of some grand thread wide "joke".....

The same guy who got a instant shot at 145 title without even a warm up fight

Yep, makes perfect sense
You gotta remember, Erik Koch got injured so Frankie stepped in

My bad.

Because, you see, we were having an intelligent conversation before all the ******* just described as "trolling behavior" and "dumb statements" started.

Funny is funny. Dumb is dumb. "Bosses pet"? You must be watching a different sport than the rest of us right now

I don't have any problem with your last post at all. You're entitled to your opinion. And you articulated it intelligently. More power to you.

Dana plays favorites, and Frankie is one of his favorites.

Dana been blessing ole boy with opportunities, since this first title shot

Your a Frankie fan, I get it fine.

But I've been in this thread for years. I had plenty of intelligent back to froth with plenty of members about all manner of subjects involving the sport. I don't have to make sure my post met your standards

I will continue to mindless shade ole boy whenever I like  . Because I know at the end of the day I can back up any post I make about him

You gonna have to deal just with it b

Try not to get too defensive

And that last line.....

What's funny is last time this happened I got a PM titled "Dude, it's over" with a lot of talk about how you don't "care what I think" and how I can say whatever I want and you won't reply. Yet here we are

And no, you can't back up any post you make about him, because, using the exchange I quoted in my last post, many of the things you say lack valuable information or are just flat out wrong.

How was he blessed with opportunities since his first title shot? By beating a former title challenger (Franca) and champion (SHerk) to earn it? 155 was nowhere near as deep then as it is now.

And is Dana REALLY playing favorites now or are you hell bent on ignoring the present?

But all that aside....is it REALLY over now?

-Frankie got his first title shot against BJ becasue Gray Maynard Phil Davised himself with his performance against NateDiaz

Frankie got the nod over him, even though Gray best Frankie by UD, because it was though Frankie could have a more exciting fight against BJ

That's the gift I'm taking about

http://www.examiner.com/article/ufc-toms-river-s-frankie-edgar-gets-title-shot-against-bj-penn

-We all saw Jose win comfortably against dude, so I dunno what problem you could have with that statement.

-You wanna argue my personal dislike for point scoring with me?

So where are these flat out lies I'm pushing?

Edit: Ignoring the present. Brah Frankie got passed over for a replacement on short notice. That is nothing major. I and damb near everyone acknowledged that Conor got the nod over him partly cause Aldo cleared out the division. Which included beating Frankie easily I might add

So what is there to complain about. Not getting a last minute replacement? C'mon

Dude then tried to ask Conor to defend the interim belt against him, belt people question should even exist, without even knowing if Jose would be unavailable.

Like what part of the game is that?

Gray had to wait his turn for his shot when they gave it to Frankie over him, let Frankie wait for his second one at 145. I don't see the big problem

That's why I keep bringing up the past. Frankie was the benefactor of the UFC waiting to make "good business" in the past. So I don't feel anyone should be sympathy for dude now

Where did you see me having a problem with you saying you don't want an Aldo fight? Or that Aldo decisively won?

All I've ever said is if Chad fought a better fight the 2nd time, maybe Edgar can too.

Where did you see me say I have a problem with you not liking his fighting style?

I didn't like GSP's fighting style. These things happen. But I know he's a ******* ELITE fighter regardless.

Maybe that's something that all those dudes you claim "slurp" Edgar acknowledge as well.

Gray Phil Davis'd Frankie as well BTW. In addition to NATE.

Sometimes you can lose a fight and not really lose steam if you're just held down for 3 rounds.

And for some reason, Frankie got better fights after that. If you want to argue some favoritism there, fine.

That's less about Frankie being "gifted" anything than it is more about Gray not being an exciting fighter.

But he WON them. 2 of which were "fight of the night". One against a former champ. One against a former challenger.

It's not a gift when you actually WIN big fights against the top of the division to get your shot.

Gus' title shot=gift. Cain's rematch=gift. IMO.

You said I was flat out lying. I wanted to know where

I already proved my point about his title shot with proof. So I was listing where else you could possibly think I'm "flat out lying"

More like we have a difference of opinion to me.

I said you omitted valuable information or you were just wrong.

I believe I've explained that stance thoroughly.

Bro I just ignore his posts soon as I see Frankie Edgar mentioned

Dude is the only one who sees things that way...but tries to convince others

Can we just move on

Why in the hell is linekar/Rivera or felder/Pearson not on the main card as opposed to blachowicz/anderson?!?!

Well my opinion of a gift and yours are different

But you haven't proven any of my arguments about Frankie are flat wrong, beyond just stating where your opinion differs.

"Doing good business" gave Frankie the nod at one point, and screwed him later now the road.

I think they even out, I explained it too, so I don't have any sympathy for dude. Even if I liked dude I won't

Why in the hell is linekar/Rivera or felder/Pearson not on the main card as opposed to blachowicz/anderson?!?!

I looked at it the way I looked at it when Faber fought on the prelims.

Looks like they're trying to spruce the prelims up by throwing a low/mid tier main card fight on it as the prelim "headliner".

Yea but didn't anderson win tuf, that's a perfect slot for him. Either of those instead of this fight would be better

And side note

Diaz/m johnson in dec

I'm good catching those fights on the prelims and not buying the PPV

Rumble/Manuwa I definitely want to see though.

Didn't even read all that back and forth

We gonna do this once a month I see with Frankie

Nate Diaz returns to fight Michael Johnson on the RDA vs Cowboy card in December. Not bad, although Johnson should be treated as if he were coming off a win

@FrankieEdgar if your looking for a real contender fight, let's do this. December sounds good 2 me! @arielhelwani @danawhite @mikeMMAinc

2:58 PM - 24 Aug 2015

If Mendes wins then what, he just lost to Conor and lost to Aldo 2x
I said the same thing...

I think the UFC doesn't make that fight for the exact reason.

If Mendes wins, I still think he will have to fight someone else before getting another shot.

Or maybe the UFC hopes Conor v. Aldo is close enough of a fight so that they can sell an instant rematch

A suggestion made on Ariel's show was Edgar vs Holloway and Mendes vs Stephens on the same card

Apparently Luke Rockhold is ******* with Taylor Swift?
