The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- UFC 300 ON NOW

Nters are obsessed with raw strength. See: silverback threads

Bones isnt gettin washed by anyoneee in the UFC period. His frame is jus too big. If he fought cain i say hed be within ten pounds of dude and have thee reach and quickness on his side.

If he could once jus fight the most effective fight instead of always tryna beat his opponents at their own game. . he certaintly could lose too but there is no opponent i wouldnt give him a coin flippin chance against

You're entitled to your opinion but everything I've seen with Spider against wrestlers like Chael and Weidman leads me to believe he'd have a very difficult time with "Bones".

That's where hand-fighting comes into play, and I have a hard time believing that Spider could do anything to stop "Bones" from maintaining control over him.

Forrest is a completely different type of fighter than Jones, apples to oranges here sir. Could care less if he beat Shogun or Rampage because neither are remotely similar to "Bones" and neither is he.

But hey you're entitled to your opinion, I just think it's an off-base one.

What's funny about your response is...I never gave an opinion.

Only a fact. I'm dealing in reality, not fantasy.

Spider has embarrassed several LHWs. Any as good as Jones? Of course not. But Spider hasn't exactly struggled with anyone in that weight class either.

Carry on.

Something about @SneakerHeathen  saying 3 different dudes nicknames without quotations (Spider, Shogun, Rampage) and then quoting "Bones" every time is really bothering me.

I think the only shot Anderson would have had was to submit Bones. Andy came up from WW, he sets into the cage at 195, he is outta shape when he fights at LHW.

Bones is a HW wit twig legs. If he gets a hold of Anderson he could man handle him

Buuuuuuutttttttt the only fighters that have been successful fighting much better guys is the very skilled ones. Anderson would have a shot because he is dangerous for at 25 mins. But Bones would be the favorite

Silva would have a chance against JBJ. JBJ sometimes leaves himself open for subs on the ground like he did with Belfort. And sometimes he's wild and sloppy with his punches and kicks. Which is something you don't wanna do with Silva cause he's a counter puncher. But the weight difference between Silva and JBJ isn't big at all. It was GSP that said during his offseason he weighs 195 lbs max while Silva balloons up to 230-235 lbs.

Would like to see Jon Jones go back to his roots and utilize more greco roman. I think he could finish fights faster if he utilized it more and surprising to see it disapear with freaking greg jackson as his coach. When he first came into the UFC he abusing guys with his greco roman.

it's not just strength with Cain though, thats not what we're saying. It's his ability to pressure and keep a demon-like pace for 5 rounds. It's his ability as a superior hand-fighter and wrestler that would give him the advantage in the fight.

Yes is "Bones" the overall more versatile fighter? Yes, but Cain's combination of skills make him an extremely tough out for anyone who faces him, including Jones.

What I'm saying is that your comparison is off-base, you comparing Silva beating Forrest as a factor in fighting Jones is like comparing apples to oranges.

Forrest and Jones are not comparable. And saying he hasn't exactly struggled with anyone in that weight class when those guys are Irvin, Bonnar and Forrest, it's like c'mon....

It wasn't like he was taking on the divisions best aside from Griffin.

This dude Bones.

Nah that ain't even funny though, he does that in every fight and that crap needs to stop.

I know small joint manipulation isn't allowed but if he's going to make a mockery of the rules I hope someone goes in there and snaps his finger in half.

Yeah Bones needs to chill the the open palm. He does it purposely because Jackson teaches his fighters to to that. Once your opponent gets poked; one it will be deemed accidental so you can get away with it a couple time. Second the dude will see hesitant to jump in because he will be scared to get poked again. :smh:

Greg Jackson is know to this "legal but dirty" crap. The baby oil trick, foot stomps, wrench the arms to pop the shoulder, how to target the head with an elbow to break and orbital, how to effectively cut your opponent to get a stoppage.

Big Jon is the only ref that warns fighters not to do it.

As much as i love him, the moment Anderson lost to Weidman i could no longer make a case for him against Jones.

Since then Anderson has broken his leg and Jones has proved he can beat dangerous/powerful strikers.

Big John is the ******* man :smokin. Awesome ref, easily my favorite. He blew out his knee in the Werdum vs Browne bout, hope he heals up quick the MMA world needs him!

The game is really looking good so far. Kinda wish they would've made it for ps3/360 too. Can't see myself spending $400-500 on a new system that I'd hardly use.

And supposedly Roy Nelson v Mark Hunt is in the works. Hope everything is finalized soon.

A few matches in the works:

McGregor v Cole Miller set to headline the Ireland card on July 19th. McGregor is talking reckless saying he's going to destroy the division including Jose. Basically took a dump on Cole Miller's name on national television. Called Cub an old man and when they were seated next to each other at an event started saying he was going to break his hip. Yikes

Cerrone is trying to fight Khabib but Micheal Johnson is trying to get in on the action as well.

mcgregor talks too much. I want to see dude get knocked out. His threesome comment about Tate and rousey was kinda funny though.

Has anyone been following TUF Brazil? Chael, as per the previous season he was in, comes off as an awesome coach and Silva a total jerk.

Dude, your reading comprehension needs serious help. You're seeing what you want to see and not what's actually in front of you.

I made no such comparison. I stated a fact and left it at that. You want to make it out to be more than it is.

What's even more comical is that you just used Griffin and "divisions best" in the same sentence. And Anderson embarrassed him. That's all it is.

Keep spinning your wheels though about the fight that will never happen

Back to reality.....this season of TUF, like most, has been disappointing. BJ and Frankie respect each other too much. BJ isn't talking any smack AT ALL.

Some of his commentary during the first fights was amusing. When one dude went for a single leg takedown, BJ saying "Does that even work anymore?" had me

When Chael isn't playing a heel and talking trash, he does seem like good dude.

BJ was constant lulz in the first Tuff, he is way to chill now. He does be dropping some gems now and then though
