The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- UFC 300 ON NOW

Props to Maia. I always think he's going to get blasted but he dominated and subbed 2 savages in brown and Condit without taking heavy damage. That's really impressive.

Pettis is not a champion. It's that simple.

Too many holes. How are you on that level and can't sprawl? :x

Maia at 170

Pettis still won't do anything against the top guys at 145

Aldo/Frankie would both give him that work. Conor is probably gonna fight at 155

Pettis did a decent job at first defending the takedown, hopefully izzy continues to tighten it up because it's not gonna get the job done at this point

I was however very impressed by Pettis ability to reverse positions on the mat. Pretty amazing actually to pull those off on oliveria

How the hell does Pettis have subs on bendo, Gil and oliveria?? Insane

Oh my fault it was only one person saying that
I really want to see Pettis vs Edgar but you're right, Edgar would probably wrestle **** him

How about Ricardo Lamas?

McGregor vs. Aldo
Edgar vs. Holloway
Pettis vs. Lamas

All on the same card

Stephens or lamas would be fine. They'd both try to wrestle him probably lol

I'm interested to see if cub and team Jackson would be willing to have him fight Pettis. Seems like it'd be awkward though

Honestly stylistically if Conor takes the Aldo rematch, I would like to see Pettis go up against Holloway for the new #1 contender. Max deserves a shot now though

Been saying for awhile....after the drug use in the sport next worst thing is the judges. Never know what they are looking at or how they scored a round. Getting paid on the side from a corner??

Just got around to watching the fights, that Lauzon/Miller fight was awesome. Really happy for Maia, dude is a true martial artist. He deserves that title shot

If RDA folded Cowboy I don't know what Robbie gonna do to him

He must have a death wish

Cowboy don't have that Woodley power

Cowboy has improved his boxing with Gibson

I would have thought cowboy would be food after the rda Nate and Pettis fights but if he can avoid the body shots and keep his head off center line it can be a good fight

I hope Cowboy takes the fight. I want one more Lawler bloodbath. The MSG crowd would be excited about it too. That would be a great co main event.

So are MSG and the New Year's card supposed to be stacked?

And what about the Toronto card and rumored GSP return?

I think the body shots really came into play cuz of the cut to 55. I think that's why his coaches n the ufc like him at 70

Could be a good point. I think he can give lawler a run for his money, especially seeing how much he's been getting hit in his recent fights

I would love to see cowboy make a title run at 70, who would have ever predicted that

robbie dumb as hell for trying to rush back after getting his **** scrambled a month ago... he should take the rest of the year off.

What? His most most recent fight? woodley would probably knock out anyone in the division with that punch.

He hasn't been the same since his last fight with Hendricks, imo. His fighting style and strategy changed and his body most definitely changed. Post USADA Robbie is not the same guy.

I kind of agree but given that robbie did take all those fights after losing to Hendricks the first match I'm not surprised he wants to return so fast. Dude just loves to fight it seems. Can't be mad at that.

Lawler-Cowboy would be a great match.

How much did miller and lauzon get paid? Those guys stay putting on a show, they deserve to be well compensated

I honestly dont see the outraged for a 10-8 round 1 for pettis. Pettis clearly hurt oliveira badly and stuffed his take downs
