The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- GSP and UFC Agree to Terms, Finalizing Contract - Page 1200

Damn. I hope they find someone for Rivera.

UFC needs to cut dudes that will obviously never be champs and can't complete a camp without an injury.

Scratch that, they should even cut the champs that are constantly getting injured and getting shelved.
So everyone at AKA
bellator would be happy to have them. It'd kinda be like when elite xc / strikeforce had most of the cesar gracie guys.
Cesar Gracie camp is all trash
nick diaz's fights in those orgs were lit.

You have a real eye for business laugh.gif

Fighters don't get paid if they don't fight so there's no need to cut them. And if they're holding a title you strip them if they are inactive for too long. Like Cruz.

Dom Cruz was THE posterboy for being injured.

Dude came back after a minute and looked great. Got injured again. Came back once more and beat TJ.

You have to judge them on performances.
They stripped Cruz, but in a lot of instances the UFC is paying their opponents show money when they pull out time and time again.

It's like the dudes that always miss weight being forced into another weight class.

Marketing takes a hit everytime these dudes screw up a card. I didn't say cut all injured fighters, certain circumstances are understandable. I'm talking repeat offenders that clearly don't change their prep to avoid injuries.

Schaub be saying some of the dumbest things sometimes sick.gif but I mess with the show. He recently started doing "Big Brown Breakdowns" which is just him breaking down fights. I'm starting to like that more than the actual Fighter & the Kid podcasts.

I listen/watch Rogans podcast also but I feel like since he is an employee of the UFC he holds back when it comes to certain topics or is mad biased. Schaub on the other hand goes in on the UFC. I listen to both to find a middle ground laugh.gif

Chael and Matt Serra's podcasts tho sick.gif

schaub will say something, but if rogen corrects him or debates it, he's gonna be like "yeah, you're right" laugh.gif all of them are like that
he still thinks he can fight in the ufc and succeed laugh.gif

rogen rarely goes into detail regarding business side of ufc or he plays dumb
it's like when eddie bravo was talking about mike goldberg possibly leaving before it got leaked. i am pretty sure rogen knew about this way before hand. similar to the sale of ufc, and possible matches that ufc are putting together. i understand he works for the company, so he probably can't get into detail

ufc makes all of them yes men. At least with the nfl the players and coaches / owners can trash the league without fear of getting banished.
You can tell when Schaub doesn't like a fighter when he slanders them and ends with "don't get it twisted, I love ______"... gets me everytime

Also in other news, looks like Demi Lovato dumped Rockhold for another fighter. I'll bet it was after he lost his belt.

The reaction of the guys in the background always gets me roll.gif

Also Cowboy could fight Woodley if he wins his next fight

Woodley and bisping gotta stop pretending that anyone cares about them matching up to fight

Cowboy is best served to go right into a title fight without taking a break, I mentioned that a while back so a march date that he is targeting makes sense

I will say that Jorge is not a good matchup for cowboy, it's going to be a hell of a fight for him
post #35990 of 37591
Maia in there too.

They gotta figure out what they're doing with Woodley/Wonderboy.

I've been the biggest Maia advocate here but Dana seems like he isn't going that route

Wonderboy is too quiet he's not keeping his name out there. Which I'm happy because I don't care to see that rematch yet

They have a lot of guys with no plans.. lawler being a big one

Apparently TJ was being eyed to move down and fight DJ for the 125 belt.

Which might be why Cody is throwing other names around for his first defense.
He should at least try to win back the 135 belt first.
Yea would be great to see TJ move down if he keeps getting passes up at 135.

With all the talk of super fights I'm just ready for a big fight to be announced as there's not currently any eye popping fight on the horizon. UFC 208 could be their lowest selling ppv ever if they don't add at least a big name Co main event.

I swear man, you need to start a podcast or something. I've never met a boxing or MMA fan that is more bitter about literally everything.

Shannon Sharpe's hot takes got nuthin on you. P4P Champ laugh.gif

Cody has softened his stance and is willing to fight tj now.. which is the obvious fight to make.. glad Cody isn't being unreasonable

**** is up with Cormier?

Let Rumble flourish!

In a world of interim belts and ********, somehow the most dangerous man in the sport is just sitting on the sidelines.
Rumble opted not to fight for the interim in Toronto.
