Jones beat and finished a line of dudes who were just leaving their primes if not in their primes

His run is the most impressive to me out of any of the other fighters you listed

However I don't think it's wrong to not think jones is the goat

He might have wasted his "prime" but what he's accomplished to date is already a case to be the goat IMO
Shogun was well past his prime. He barely beat an old man Mark Coleman and TKO'd a well past his prime liddell to earn a title shot against Machida.

Rampage- Barely got passed Keith Jardine (knockdown at end of fight won it for him). Lost to Rashad, beat lyoto but that was questionable, then fought Matt Hamil to a decision. This guy is not in his prime for sure.

Lyoto- Lost to Shogun and rampage before beating an old man Couture to earn a shot at Jones

Rashad- Ill accept that one despite how undersized he is

Those are the 205ers that built his resume.

gsp mad booring tho

Still cleaned out his division despite dominating in a boring fashion.

And who did Silva beat if you guys picking apart Jones' resume?

Like DC could be the legit HW champ if he wanted. Gustafson only losing to the top three. TRT Vitor and Sonnen fought Jones.

dominating with flair >>>> dominating in a booring fashion

gsp always played it mad safe, I aint mad at him...he def one of the best ever

I wouldnt say GSP ran through doods though, he was a master tactician and phenominal athlete

but when you got guys going balls to the wall like aldo, jones, and spider WHILE cleaning the division out, I gotta favor guys who run through doods opposed to lay on guys for 5 rounds

Who is everyone rooting for tonight? Bisping or Hendo?

I'm riding with Bisping. He's never been a favorite of mine, but after being in the building for 199, I've fully bought in to his whole "destiny" storyline  Hope he gets his revenge.

I know there are a million things you could add to explain it, but still unbelievable to me that when we look back at Bisping's record he could end up winning the belt and beating Silva, Rockhold & Hendo back to back to back all within a year.

Shogun wasn't well past his prime IMO

He beat machida twice IMO

He may have been injured in that fight and jones just took his soul

Lyoto only suffered one bad loss before fighting Jon

Rampage hadn't really been impressive so I'll give you that. By no means was that an easy fight though he was still one of the best in the world

We can go through gsp and andersons resume and nitpick too

Anderson's run isn't what y'all make it to be anyway. Best wins to me are Maia and Henderson. Maybe Franklin, aside from that I don't really care if he runs through TUF has beens.

Mighty Mouse is far more impressive than all these dudes y'all are talking about.

The ex-champs who jones beat might've been out of their peak primes but those guys were still good enough to challenge or get th belt if jones wasn't around.

I always looked at that first part of Jones' run as him just running through the older smaller fighters on their way out, similar to how I looked at Weidman when he ran through Silva x2, Vitor, and Machida (although Machida gave him hell in that 5th round). I figured the minute Weidman fought a young guy who could match his size and skill he'd have problems, and sure enough Rockhold took him out. Difference with Jones is he actually beat Gus and Cormier so his resume is solidified.

I actually still think Rampage in his prime coulda gave Jones problems just because of his power and wrestling. Rumble could be an even worse matchup if he could somehow gets his gas tank and TDD together.

And if Aldo didn't get slept like that by Conor he'd be in the GOAT discussion too.

But for now Fedor, SIlva and GSP are solidified, and Jones is pretty much up there with them too. I'd say Fedor and Silva tied for #1 until Jones gets his **** together and gets a few more solid wins, and maybe a heavyweight fight

Fedor, GSP, Silva

Ill give you that but do you really feel his run is the most impressive ever? I'm talking resume and not as a fighter. As a pure talented fighter absolutely Jon Jones has it all and is most likely the most talented fighter ever. I just feel that another win over DC and a fight with Rumble could get him there.

He is perceived to many to be the a talented fighter who wasted his prime.

I know my thoughts and opinions wont change yours but I'm just here for the sake of debate.
For sure, for the sake of debate....

He doesn't need another win over DC. He beat him convincingly. Another win does nothing for his resume other than the fact that he would get the title back that he never lost. The only one he needs is Rumble. MAYBE another Gus fight (since somehow theres people out there that think Gus won, even though Jon without a doubt won a decisive three rounds)

I don't agree that he wasted his prime. Very few people clear out a division, nonetheless have aspirations to move up a weight class to go for another title.

All this Spider hate :smh:

I think Weidman just happened to be his kryptonite. After that his next 2 losses were questionable at best. He lost the shaky decision to Bisping and then he stepped up on 14 hours notice to face that bum DC who just laid on top of him.

I think he's owed one more high profile match before writing him and his chin off.
Dudes need to put some respeck on Andersons name :smh:

I personally put a lot of stock into losing. Jones never been beaten. In b4 people make more excuses for Silva.

I love Silva. Dude is the epitome of a martial artist.

I just hate when cats forgive Silva but not Jon when they both popped for penis pills. Silva's had his fair share of drama with the UFC and fans. For a while he was putting on boring fights and not giving it his all. Ya'll forget thats the main reason they bumped Chael up to the title picture when he really wasnt at that level yet

This. ALL OF THIS.

Dude could have retired after he beat DC and he could have made a case for the GOAT. And if he ever does go up to HW, I think he gives a bulk of the top 10 fits since his size and length translate well against them.

I was never a Bisping fan but I lowkey hope he wins tonight. Good to see him get his after getting manhandled by people who piss hot

I just want to see Dan get rocked and then unleash H-bombs one more time. His fight with fedor is still one of my favorite fights to watch. So damn entertaining.

Some fine English babes behind the announce team.

One of them actually might be Dan's wife.
