The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- UFC 300 ON NOW

Agree those three fights including Ferguson are fights I'd rather see. But the way his coach is talking ionooo

He shouldn't pick off money because the opponent doesn't matter when Conor is fighting. Hes selling these things out regardless

Alvarez just posted this on his Instagram

Congrats to Connor and his camp on an amazing accomplishment , these guys continue to deliver ,hats off to you fellas . As for my performance , the only thing I can honestly say was I ******* blew it ... I did nothing I trained , I did the complete opposite of what we planned on a daily basis for 10 weeks . To sum up our plan in a sentence it was "Go left and mostly wrestle " instead I circled into his left hand and mostly boxed . Fighting the way I did was a for sure death sentence and the result was fitting . I say it all the time, there is really small margin for error at this level and I paid for my mistakes . I managed to make it to the biggest stage and audience in my long career and ****** it all up when I arrived , my heart sincerely hurts and when I dwell on it I fill up with regret and anger . If there was a list of what not to do against an Opponent of this nature I did them all on Saturday . I am disappointed in myself and this is not a reflection of my coaches , training Partners , and the endless hours of training I commit to this sport . Every Time I get into the cage I negotiate being vulnerable and possibly embarrassed against the opportunity to do something great and Grow more . I always choose the latter regardless of the uncomfortability and anxiety it brings to me , I think this choice is the only reason I ever succeeded in the first place . I thought in my head at least making a lot of money would make me happy but I am having a lot of trouble enjoying myself regardless of the check thats going to be written , I am very uneasy and discontent for the most part . I am lucky to have my wife and my child at a time like this to help me laugh and smile and let me know everything's gonna be all right , they are my saving Grace , without them I am a shell of a man . Besides the outcome I thoroughly enjoyed fight week and the lead up , it was a lot fun . I have never defined myself off one win and I'll never define myself off one loss ,I simply had a bad night .. I'll have the opportunity again to have a good one ,, and I'll make the Walk to see what I got Everytime . Thanx for listening -EA

I think Conor should go for the trifecta against Woodley.

Much like the Nate fight wound up being, it's a win/win.

You win, you...literally.....are legend.

You lose, well, you moved up 2 weight classes, fought a LEGIT 170 lber who was the champ. Shot your shot.

And you can go back to 155 etc.

I know it ***** a lot of **** up for everyone else but when it's right there within reach, I don't know how you don't go for it.

And if he wins, he immediately relinquishes 145 belt.

UFC currently only has two champs that have defended their titles more than once, MM and JJ (Woodley retained via draw, he didn't defend). Says a lot about the current state of the UFC.

Edit: I meant to say defended their titles more than once.

Eddie sounds like he gonna commit that

I'm 90% sure Woodley will fight Wonderboy again next

I don't think Conor will fight again until late 1sr qtr-late 2nd qtr 2017

In the meantime Aldo will fight Max/Pettis

I can see Conor fighting winner of those or Woodley if he beats Wonderboy

We do have a few title fights lined up which could change that, but titles have been changing hands left and right.

Aldo moving up to 155 doesn't guarantee anything. Conor has made it really clear he has no interest in fighting him

UFC will be struggling for money fights so nate Diaz has the leg up especially when you consider Conor's coach believes nate is he second best 155er

UFC didn't even talk to khabib after his fight. If they gave khabib the next shot I'd be surprised

Conor doesn't want to give Aldo a rematch pisses me off but Conor can do whatever he wants.

Woodley would put Conor in a coffin though.

I don't think the Nate fight is happening anytime soon. If I'm Dana I'm keeping that as my break in case of emergency matchup. No matter when it happens or if there any stakes attached to it, everyone is going to eat it up anyway

I mean Aldo already beat Frankie before Conor slept him in 13 seconds so what does another decision against Frankie prove?
