Brawlers may not be the right word, but they want guys that are gonna go out there and swing for the fences. Even before Machida's knockout of Munoz, Dana wasn't a fan of his because he wasn't aggressive enough for him and he wasn't a fan of his technical and counter fighting.

They gave Shields all the chances to get to a title shot, no? They gave Okami all the chances to get a title shot, no? They give guys who win a chance. It's up to the fighters to remain entertaining. It's up to the fighters to put on a show.

OK, you named Bendo. Bendo has gone to point fighting but he's still right at the top of the food chain. Faber, Johnson, Weidman, Maia, Munoz.. should I bother going on? The UFC does care about winning and they do give even the boring fighters a chance to get a title if they are winning.

It's only natural for brawlers to get more chances. How is that not obvious? It's the fight business. I don't blame the UFC for cutting Shields and Fitch because they are boring *** fighters. There's a difference between technical and boring. Shields toes that line way too much and Fitch is plain boring.

Now they moved JDS vs Stipe to July. I was actually excited that I can watch JDS again. All this shuffling is really confusing.

Woodley has signed an 8 fight contract with the UFC, should be a good fight with Rory

Cyborg is saying she's willing to fight Holly Holm. That would be interesting since Ronda is too scared to fight Cyborg.

As crazy as Nate Diaz is, I believe him in this story. I feel bad for this guy, he deserves to be making legit $$$

It's not just him though. Just looking at the salaries that come out online, there's a lot of fighters not getting paid what they deserve.
It's clear that Dana and the other guys have their favorites and the guys that they just don't like.

Every week there's a new fighter complaining about money. Its about time that they do something about it instead of just talking. If those kids at Northwestern can begin to form a union, why can't fighters?

I dunno if Arianny and Britney get paid more than him by the company but they probably make good bank from all the modeling, endorsements, and appearances they make.

Can't Nick teach and train people in bjj and boxing? He can make some money doing that if he's not fighting.
Diaz is an established fighter who is a good draw and almost always puts on an entertaining fight. I don't blame him for speaking out against the UFC, because for him to only get paid $15k a fight is a complete joke.
I'd be salty too. Women's MMA is a joke and they are making Rhonda Rousey a multimillionaire and a superstar. Its like being the best in a pool of below par/sub par talent, nothing to brag about or worthwhile.

It's Nate not Nick that's complaining about money. But from what's been said in the past, Nick is pretty well off and doesn't need to keep fighting. But that could change considering he said he's never paid taxes in his life.

But fighters gotta do something about the pay cause only a few truly make a lot of money. A majority of fighters make their money from sponsorships. And that's probably only going to decrease when they implement their uniforms.

Whoops. No wonder that part of the article about him saying he pays his taxes confused me. At least Nate won't get locked up for not paying them.

Nick is out in Vegas living the dream. He hits up this girl I know to come out constantly.

All of this shuffling fights is getting crazy now. They're looking at moving DC/Hendo from 175 to 173. And replacing Hendo with Bader if Dan isn't medically cleared to fight then.

And Dana said he offered Nick Diaz a fight with Lombard but he hasn't gotten any response from Diaz.

Edit: Now Nick Diaz is talking about money. UFC wants him to fight Lombard, Diaz wants to a title shot or he wants UFC to renegotiate his contract ($500K or more) to fight anyone else. If neither happens he'll stay retired.

I thought he was exaggerating when he said Diaz only got paid $15k but he did. For the TUF 18 finale he got $15k to show and $15k to win.

That's just sad regardless of how the contracts were structured.

So much for the fastest growing sport, apparently the pay does not grow with it.

Did ex-champs like GSP or Anderson got 1M? Anybody know who got the highest pay from the ufc?

i dont remember the number but i am pretty sure it was brock. dude cashed out big time for UFC 100 which was the most PPV buys ever for a UFC event. chuck definitely made some big bucks too.

I'm gonna assume that GSP, Silva, and maybe Lesnar made close to $1M.  Those 3 use to get close to $500k per fight, with GSP and Silva, maybe Lesnar, getting a percentage of the ppv buys. In the past Dana claimed they paid a fighter $5M before, but wouldn't say who.

I think the top 3-6 fighters may make 6 figures but the majority are barely making 5 figures in base pay. Winklejohn said UFC offered Holly Holm, $15k base pay to fight Rousey. While she got a $250k offer for a boxing match.

I just looked up Diaz' past few fights. So Nate got $15K for fighting Thomson and then $15K for fighting Maynard (all found simply on Wikipedia for each UFC event page). The UFC doing this guy dirty and Nate's management team has to be the worst in the sport. What a dummy.

Yeah, 15k isn't much. Considering they train like 2-4 months for one fight and have training expenses to pay for along with other bills. Plus the ufc are being punks and limiting sponsors and forcing sponsors to pay them.

Last year there was an article detailing UFC contracts and a Northwestern law professor said that ufc fighters have the worst contracts he's ever seen in sports and entertainment.

http://www.bleacherreport.com/articles/1516575-the-business-of-fighting-a-look-inside-the-ufcs-top-secret-fighter-contract

Long story short, fighters are being screwed. Low pay. Sponsorship money being limited now and will likely be eliminated with new uniform policy. Fighters have to pay for training camps, travel and room accommodations for most of corner men (a non champion is only entitled to 2 plane tickets and 1 hotel room). UFC has exclusive rights to fighter's name, likeliness, etc and its "perpetual" meaning its forever. So they can still make money off of you after they cut you. And fighters pay more in taxes because they're independent contractors and not employees of UFC.

Fighters are getting $15K or less while Dana is importing snow to his house in Vegas, tipping casino workers $10-100k, and winning and losing 7 figures while gambling.

Umm, I don't know how to post gifs but if you are a fan of Gina Carano and her body, here is a link to gifs from a new movie she's in. The first gif looks like it's from a different kind of movie.

Has anyone read that article about ronda and dana saying carano deserves immediate title shot? I hope they are joking.

They're not kidding at all and the link that @shogun posted is exactly why its gonna happen.

It's women's mma, bro. No one cares and the talent is a joke so it makes sense that want a fight between 2 "stars." And given their investment into Rousey, they will protect her forever.
Set up mighty mouse vs ronda. I'd actually be interested in watching that.

Diaz dont get no 15/15 he renegotiated to 60/60 with a sevedal hundred k sign bonus. Fool jus careless hah

Taxes prolly rape him but once u add bonus potential. Fighting three times a year n winning two... He should be fine. I bet he has a hefty glass collection and has lost luxury whip money to the casinos
