The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- O’Malley v Vera on NOW

Did you see the post fight show on Fox1? They asked him that, he said he won't fight Rashad and that he will wait 8 months to fight Jones
Yeah I've been watching it on Fox1 but guys say a lot of stuff after a fight. He said he'd fight Rashad for a title and that he'd also take a fight with Rumble. If Gus beats Jones they might do a rematch so DC would be out of luck again.

Guys actually say a lot of stuff one day and do the opposite the next. Wouldn't be shocked to see DC take another fight. Hopefully he puts on a more suitable show for you guys. I personally already find him mostly entertaining.

Yea i wouldn't be surprised if they tell him he needs to take one more fight before Jones. Even if Jones beats Gustaffson

I think DC taking a fight or not taking one depends on when Jon fights Gus. I know that ESPN reported that UFC wants it at 177 in Aug, and Gus agreed to the date but Jones hasn't responded yet.  He may want to wait until Sept/Oct. Just like how Weidman wanted to fight on this ppv so he could enjoy the entire summer with his family without training. Jones may be in the same boat.

Chael just said Varner was basically faking his ankle injury
mean.gif
Come on Chael. He said Varner has done this for the past 6 years "boy who cried wolf"
mean.gif

Disrespectful as hell and I'm usually on board with most of what Chael says on the show

DC and Dana both talking like he's going to take another fight. If Rashad is healthy I'd say him if not then Rumble. DC also said if Jones loses to Gus he deserves a rematch for sure. Classy DC as always

 @ what DC did to Hendo.

I watch a 30 second highlight video and I see Hendo get completely rag dolled like 4x.

Varner still has that bad rep from the Cowboy fight way back in the WEC, I believe he quit that fight against Cerrone as did many others. Though anyone with a pair of eyes can see that Varner was in a bad, bad way tonight. That ankle was DONE. The way it kept giving out was just nasty. If he quit, that's an Oscar worthy performance, the way he kept collapsing and the way that ankle kept giving out was just :x......

Gotta respect Varner for finishing out that round, a lot of lesser men wouldn't of been able to. He's come a long way since that WEC 38 incident.

A guy shouldn't be judged for something that happened years ago and has since put up nothing but 100% effort fights. Chael was very classless for calling Varner out. Will wait for a doctor's prognosis though, I'm pretty sure it was broken

Agreed.

I was very disappointed in barao. He got crowned way too early. He has no gameplan. He had no plan b. His corner was **** going into last round. "You need a knock out" o word thanks, why not some strategy, tell him do something different. Smh

"One of the best LB4LB "fighters can not be dominated for every second of a 5 round fight.

Let's not overreact now, Barao was caught early in the first round with a bomb, that thew him off for the rest of the fight. He will be back and is still one of the best fighters in the division. He was shaken up bad from that bomb, I was shocked he didn't go down much earlier than the 5th round.

Dillashaw looked flawless and so crisp.

I'm not a Barao fan, not a fan of his style of fighting so I'm happy to see a new champion tbh

The over reacting was forcing us to believe he's top lb4lb fighter.
Well if anyone believed he was then that's on them. He clearly was in the mix though after not losing for nearly 10 years and dominating everyone in the UFC before last night. He's still one of the best until he loses again

I actually have had that feeling that Mendes will dethrone Aldo. I've always whined about Aldo grabbing the fence when Mendes was about to slam him hard the first time they fought. Since then Mendes has looked unreal while Aldo has fought safe and not to lose. Seems like a recipe for a new champion. Hopefully the champ has a fire lit under his *** after seeing Barao get dismantled.

Benavidez finally beats Mighty Mouse for the TAM sweep, in my dreams.

That gameplay footage looks nothing like the previous 'gameplay trailers'

He beat Picktett, Wineland, Macdonald and Faber twice, undefeated in forever.... The guy is/was legit but he was on the receiving end of a special performance last night.

I haven't seen a challenger outclass the champion in that manner since Jones wrecked Shogun.
