Matt Brown vs Robbie Lawler this Saturday is going to be nuts! Can't Wait!!!

Saturday's card looks great. Robbie v Matt Brown should be good. Rumble said he's looking for a stoppage against Lil Nog. Josh Thomson always brings it and I think Masvidal v Cruickshank could be a potential great fight.

Belfort granted a license by the Nevada commission, and UFC announced he'll be fighting Weidman on Dec 6 in Las Vegas.

The Dec 6 card is shaping up to be good too with Gilbert v Pettis already scheduled to fight. I wonder if they're still looking at Rousey v Carano to fight on the Dec card. 3 title fights on 1 card sounds great but idk if they'd actually do it.

Vitor needs to be juiced to the gills to stand a chance but after what happened to Chael the UFC and the athletic commission are going to be all over son in the run up to the fight.

ViTRTor is gonna get worked by Weidman

Yes sir. New Lhw champion. Wait, did Cormier go through with the surgery, is he recovered? Holds money for bets.

Oh **** yes.

Cormier is going to give Bones all he can handle.

Sucks for Gus. Heard he hurt his knee. Now he has to be hoping that Jones wins. If DC wins, Jones gets an immediate rematch so he'd have to wait longer for a title shot.

Nope he put off surgery. He gotta know that Jones is gonna be throwing those front knee kicks all day like he did with Rampage.

Was looking forward to the rematch, but I'm not mad at this outcome either.

Guess Bones got his wish. :lol

Wasn't Cormier supposed to be getting surgery, or did he have it already?

No way jones does that. He asking to be thrown to the ground. But jones likes to beat guys in their own game, let's see if he wants to grapple with dc.

Only person I can remember outgrappling / wrestling him was Gus.

UFC 178 is stacked! I have a feeling DC is going to dominate And rag doll Jones. He might be shorter but he has proven himself with some of the best HW fighters. He's good at closing distance, has great wrestling and good striking. I'll be rooting for Jones though. Hopefully he can prevent the takedowns and use his reach and eye pokes to his advantage laugh.gif . Also, the Peoples main event will happen before with McGreGOAT vs Poirier. Not to mention Dom Cruz returning, Cat Zigano returning, Tim Kennedy vs Romero, Wonderboy Thompson vs Cote, Ebersole vs Doomsday Howard and more fights to be announced ::brain explodes::

Feel bad for Gus and Khabib both. Worthy challengers.

I'm in the minority, Bones finishes DC in the mid-to-late rounds.

Hope DC been staying in shape after that surgery and I hope this aint microwaving a potential great fight between he and Jones for the sake of salvaging the event. I would like them to go at it relatively healthy and with a decent amount of camp time.

Edit: I just read that DC delayed the surgery? Yikes

He was supposed to have the surgery but then he wanted to have one last wrestling match which happened at the UFC expo before UFC 175. Then he was gonna have surgery the following week but he put it off.

That's why I think Jones is gonna use those knee kicks just like he did with Rampage. Rampage is still pissed about those kicks and thought that they should be made illegal cause they hyperextend the knee.

Someone bound to get hurt on this card so I'm not even getting excited tbh. The card is too beautiful for an injury not to happen

As long as we get Conor/Diamond I'm good

To make it seem like Frankie being ranked above Cub is some travesty because of a "streak" is ridiculous to me.

Even now, the term "streak" is getting thrown around left and right as opposed to "he beat ____ who is at the top of the division.

If you're not an established contender, which I think we can safely say Frankie is and has been for some time now, then you need to earn that.

Pretty much everyone who gets a shot at the title is on some kind of "streak", but beating some guys at the TOP of the division should be a part of that for you to get a shot. And I'm not sure Cub or Cerrone has done that yet.

Youre right but neither has Frankie.

Anyways its all irrelevant. McGreGoat gonna get the next shot after mopping Dustin smokin.gif

Not to beat a dead horse, but I will anyway. I wasn't saying Frankie deserved a shot right now either. I'm saying Cub and Frankie should fight for that shot.

This all really started because Frankie is "ranked" above Cub. Frankie is easily the more accomplished fighter and has been for quite some time.

I don't know how you could be upset over him being ranked over a guy with Cub's resume. And I'm a big Cub fan. I almost bought that dude's ******* T Shirt for the gym. But come on....

Fact is, TUF really ****** this all up. BJ had no business fighting. Cub and Frankie should have fought instead of this season of TUF, which was boring as **** and we'd have a true #1 contender.

Crazy thing is, if BJ had won that fight, there was a good chance he'd be the one fighting Aldo next. Because I know the UFC wants some new blood in there.

Like you said, Conor about to be the next dude on a "streak" being pre-mauturely discussed for a title shot too. Clear as day.

******* AMPED for the card this weekend. Have a bottle of Glenlivet 18 that should be at my office on Friday that is going to get that WORK starting at 6pm on Saturday.

Nobody's upset at all though about the rankings and you've been ******** on Cub's streak from the get go. I love Frankie, I've said as such that I have him as my #4 in the division. You boast about his accomplishments like he's a legend though, in excess.

There are just as many if not more knowledgeable publications out there who rank Cub ahead of Frankie than the other way around. So when you were acting so surprised that "I was the first person to question the rankings", I guess you hadn't really been paying close enough attention.

My apologies to you if I mistakenly interpreted this as you being upset....

No, I don't pay attention to "publications". I have a brain of my own thank you.

All I said was yours was the first complaint on Frankie being ranked over Cub I've heard. And it is.

Again, never said legend. You're seeing things. Just said more he's accomplished than Cub TODAY. True or false?

You keep using the term "********" on Cub's "streak". Not ******** on it at all. I'm looking at it for what it is. Good, but not GREAT.

Who have Stephens or Siver EVER beaten that's a legit contender or championship caliber fighter? If there are any, they are few and far between and none are recent.

So I should be impressed by those wins? You still seem to be more focused on the streak than the quality of the opponents.

That's exactly the problem. It's happening with Cerrone. Happening with Conor. And I'm not buying it.

I've seen it on TONS of fighters who then don't deliver on the big stage. Koch, Grispi, Hioki at FW alone.

I respect what Travis Browne did. Dude fought Overeem, Barnett, Gonzaga AND Werdum and never got a title shot.

I'm a fight fan. But I understand the business of the UFC. They want new blood in against their champs. Can't risk it being Aldo/Mendes/Edgar over and over again.

I want Cub to fight someone who's a Top 5 FW today. And a fight with Frankie would be phenomenal.

We, as fight fans, should all want that. Sadly, TUF is the reason that happened, which sucks, but it's business.

But arguing with someone about "rankings" is just as ridiculous as complaining about "rankings", which are pretty arbitrary anyway.

So that will be the last of this subject for me.

Aldo vs Showtime needs to happen. My buddy who is a huge Penn fan would hate it so much if Aldo won a belt in 2 divisions.

To your point, I have a brain of my own too, that's why I was voicing my opinion. When you say "that's the first time I've heard a complaint", you're assuming everyone just agrees with the same notion, which obviously wasn't the case.

To your point on Cub's streak, Frankie's best streak doesn't really blow Cub's out of the water.

I agree that rankings are all subjective, but when it comes down to who is next in line after Mendes, IMO that is Cub if I have to choose. Obviously a fight between he and Frankie would be ideal though. That's why I brought rankings up in the first place.
