The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- UFC 300 ON NOW

In the Rory/T-Wood fight, somebody needs to go for broke. They need to make an impression to get to the head of the line. I don't think 'going for broke' is in Rory's vocabulary, though. That Ellenberger fight was smart, but damn, it was boring as ****. If my guy Tyron starts throwing bombs, watch out.

As for prelims, I'm looking at Fight Pass at 7, FX at 8, PPV at 10. All East Coast time.

We're going to get some clarity and answers after this PPV:

1. Demetrious Johnson is coming off 3 straight Fox headlines, has he created an apparent fan base with the casuals? He now graduates to headline a PPV, how many buys will we see?

2. How much does the world care about the 125 pound division in general...

Thanks. For some reason my dvr guide is saying its on now.

Most of what I'm hearing from everyone is that they're gonna either pass, stream, or wait to download. No one really is talking about buying the ppv.

I dunno, demetrius isn't really a star and I think the ratings for the fox shows have been ok. Not sure how many people see him headlining a ppv and say i'll buy it.

DJ is headlining this PPV out of necessity, not because the UFC believe in him as a draw. With all the injuries to the other champs, the UFC can't afford to throw title fights on FOX right now.

Dude has the personality of a paper bag, no one outside of the typical hardcore cares that he is fighting tonight.

The reason DJ is headlining wasn't really the question, but I do agree. I'm just saying that we will see how much pull Johnson has built. I mean, if he can't draw.. and he's headlined 3 Fox cards... that's not good. That's what I was getting at

Gotcha. That makes more sense. I don't see much intersection between the the PPV and FOX audiences though. I hope Dana and the boys don't have high expectations for this one.

I think they're expecting really low numbers. Would explain why Dana's been making sure to talk about how he knows Bellator's real ppv numbers and how they didn't get 100k buys.

Honestly they did a terrible job of promoting this card. I didn't even know that Arlovski was returning tonight.

Mighty Mouse is one of the most technical fighters in the UFC. Too bad the average MMA fan can't appreciate his greatness.

After Bagautinov, I'd happily see a Dodson rematch for Johnson. Dodson stunned and hurt Johnson early, won a couple early rounds. Just couldn't get the finish and got worked by the Muay Thai clinch late.

John Lineker if he can make weight. Benavidez is probably the second best fighter at 125 despite losing to Mighty Mouse twice. The first was an arguable split. Moraga a threat even after losing to Johnson and Dodson. Dustin Ortiz and Zach Makovsky will eventually get a shot. Ian McCall and Jussier Formiga. The Flyweight division isn't thin.

Any guesses on how long it takes for Schaub's or Andrei's jaw to give out?
Had Arlovski KO 1.

Rogan was def swingin from jimmo that fight but it's all good

What would be a good matchup for OSP next?
