I agree with his analysis of that match and I don't fall under either of those choices :lol

Chael rocked Silva standing a number of times because Silva was so concerned with Chael's takedowns

Like he said though, it was a tainted match anyway, with Chael on the TRT

D. None of the above.

My analysis was objective. Did you not see the first fight? Are you seriously going to insinuate that Sonnen was not thoroughly dominant until the end?

And did you not notice that I stated the ending was one of the greatest in MMA history? Obviously a tipping of my proverbial hat to Silva?

Its funny how you call me a hater when you sir are in fact a biased **** rider.

Fight hasn't sold out 8o I'm a little surprised despite it being the holiday season.. seems like a card people would definitely buy a ticket to

DC talkin crazy though?

"I think this fight will do 750[,000 buys], that's where I place the line," White said. "Everyone thinks the pay-per-view thing is dead," White said. "Pay-per-view isn't dead. We just had a bad year."

The way Cormier sees it, the business success or failure of UFC 182 will be more of a reflection of the state of the industry than of his fight with Jones in and of itself.

"If this fight doesn't sell out, if this fight doesn't do pay-per-view numbers, than it will show where we are compared to before," Cormier said. "Four, five years ago, this fight probably does a complete sellout, 900 [thousand] to a million buys, but that's not where we are today. Does it mean that things are bad? No. Times have changed, as times have changed in the world. It's not just in mixed martial arts. It's in everything."

I think Dana lying his *** off in regards to Team Alpha Male :lol

However, White is also keeping the door open to a bout between Dillashaw and Team Alpha Male founder and teammate Urijah Faber. The former WEC featherweight champion has won five out of his past six bouts after a controversial finish of Francisco Rivera at UFC 181.

"They're definitely open to it," White said. "When you have a team full of guys that are in the same weight, you're eventually going to have to fight each other, and they're all cool with that."

I will absolutely not discredit Jones' resume in any way. Rampage and Rua may have been on their way down but what about Evans, Machida, Vitor, Gus and Glover? I think Gus definitely pushed Jones to the absolute limit, but I scored Jones 3 rounds

Honestly, what stands out to me the most is the fact that DC trains every day with Cain. From all the stories over the years, it seems like DC has pretty much taken it to Cain.. I mean that's pretty impressive in my mind

Edit: Actually forgot DC fought Barnett 5 rounds. Damb. I guess you could say DC has never fought 5 rounds at his new weight..

I still don't have a feeling either way, don't think I will. Just hope for a great fight

I too scored for Jones 3 rounds to 2 against Gus, and in my mind thar performance was by far Jones' best. He showed a lot of heart in a fight he did not look comfortable at all being in.

As for Glover, guy fought a lot of fluff before coming to the UFC. He has some impressive power and some real nice innate abilities but I feel like he fought Jones before he was ready.

And as for his wins over Vitor and Machida, I take nothing away. Its just that when it comes to the wrestlers he's fought none of them really have the ability Cormier has.

Save maybe Chael but we all know Chael wanted nothing to do with Jones once that fight started.

Suga was an All-American at Michigan but it really hasn't translated into him being a supremely dominant wrestler in MMA. Ditto Bader.

Only guy who has ever really out wrestled Cormier was freaking Cael Sanderson. I just feel that this is one fight that I cannot see Jones beating his opponent with his own medicine.

That leaves Jones having to win off his back and I'm not convinced that he will be able to do that against Cormier.

I don't mean to discredit Jones in anyway despite how I feel about him as an individual. I just don't think he's fought a guy who he can't beat at his own game thus far and Cormier is a guy who can actually implement a game plan and follow through.

I feel you bro, yeah I agree with a lot of what you said there

I said it before, but if Jones can get by DC and Gus again, AND Rumble? IMO he will be the GOAT, not to mention if he then moves up to HW and has success

DC offers such a damn good test

i was going to agree with you until the lame *** last sentence.  Who exactly am i riding here?  All i said was i don't wanna see another fight like that where it's mainly one dude laying on another.

i want to see a competitive and exciting fight that lives up to the hype. not a ******* wrestling match.  Who i am being biased for and whose **** am i riding with that statement sir?

Oh yeah, he gets past those 3 he legitimately takes the GOAT crown.

Though I honestly believe HW would be a bad career decision. His biggest advantage at 205 is just being flat out bigger and rangier than every opponent he has faced.

That advantage (size wise at least because his reach would still be greater than most HWs) would be effectively nullified.

Cain, JDS, Overeem, Werdum and perhaps even the likes of Josh Barnett and Browne would all be extremely difficult fights for Jones.

His record would surely be blemished. Though I wouldn't take anything away from him for taking that plunge.

Simply by implying that I am somehow a Sonnen fan or a Silva hater or some combination of both as a rebuttal tells me that you yourself hold some bias against Sonnen.

Because nobody except the irrational Silva fanatics could have watched that fight and came away feeling like Sonnen was laying and praying the whole time or that it was some sort of glorified wrestling match.

That fight was far from boring. Again I don't know what fight you saw but clearly it wasn't the same one I did. It was a damned good fight from beginning to end. Wrestling is a part of MMA, Cormier isn't going to go in there trying to fight a stand up war against Jones.

Thar doesn't mean that the fight will be uncompetitive. Again if we get anything close to Sonnen Silva I in Cormier vs Jones I (as well as you) should be thrilled.

i 100% agree Sonnen dominated that fight against Silva.

i don't want to see a fight on Saturday where Jones/DC spend 90% of the fight on the ground. plain and simple.

I'm not sure who you are to tell me what i should or should not personally be "thrilled" to see

Im not telling you a thing bro except that your original sentiment implying that Silva Sonnen I was five rounds of lay and pray like we were watching a Askren or a Fitch fight is just flat out wrong.

Or the idea that the fight was boring, also wrong.

I don't know what you want to see from Cormier but whatever.

Sorry if you feel that I called you out your name but your multiple choice question pigeonholing me as some sort of biased Sonnen fan or Silva hater or both was just an inane rebuttal on your part.

That fight didn't have the build up like this one did or the pedigree. I don't see it selling one million buys. UFC has to thank their globalization/over saturation.

Cant wait. :hat

I hope its a good fight for a round or 2 but Jones should finish DC.

I think it would be hard for an all non-Brazilian black main event o be a sell out at the gate. Especially without both coaching a season of tuff

Super excited for this fight!!!!

I have this strange feeling bones is gonna lose. But I still can't imagine what it's going to look like. Clinch fest or will their wrestling cancel each other out and it becomes mostly a striking match.

I want jbj to win tho
Ive seen people post that DC gets the best of Cain during sparring. However, I've never seen DC fight with the speed and intensity that Cain has during his fights (the once in a blue moon he does).

I don't care who wins honestly. Just want a great fight like Gustafson/Jones. The fall out will also be great for the division as there is a solid top 4 right now in Jones, Cormier, Gustafson and Johnson.

2. Only way DC can win is GnP/LnP

Just watched a bunch of the lead up to this and I'm convinced that DC doesn't believe all the **** talk he been spewing and that he'll be in the ring after the fight apologizing for it. :lol

Really? Lol I feel the opposite. I think the belief permeates through his pores

But if DC does lose I think he'll be gracious but no apologies

Just something about the way he **** talks... I feel like he's just trying to get his Sonnen on.

Even Chael after he got whooped by Jon admitted that he just simply wasn't on Jon's level. Jon smothered him.

Ever since DC called Jon out the first time in the ring, talkin bout "I can take him down 100 times out of 100" seemed like he had a face on like "awww man I hope this works and they let me fight him now".

He gets so frustrated when Jon is talking down to him too. :rollin Makes me think about some wrestlers I knew in high school who were tough but would get sonned by words and have no comeback.

If the UFC wants to be such a big sport why not stop doing PPV?  You don't see the NBA Playoffs or Superbowl being put on Pay Per View......

legitamate question because i've never bothered to look into it before, why does this seem like it's never even thought about for things like UFC and Boxing?

I feel you, Chael to me was so much different to me though. Like, no comparison at all. Chael had a long history of putting on a shtick and when he broke into character it was very distinct. After the Anderson thing, he stayed in character til his retirement.

And yeah DC definitely takes a lot of what Jon says and does personally :lol. It stems from DC's childhood and experiences. I also believe DC represents a large portion of fans who get frustrated by Jones' personality as well. Personally I have no problems with Jones and I am a fan of him out of the ring. Personally I don't know why so many folks get worked up about how Jones conducts himself but that's life
