I'm becoming more and more confident DC is taking this thing. 5 rounds of ragdolling.

On another note, I've had a TON of people come out the woodwork asking me about this fight. Don't remember getting hit up like this about MMA since Lesnar.

Might hit a bar in BK to watch, otherwise will be on the couch with a frosty 6 pack. laugh.gif

This kind of stuff is highly appreciated. That kick Hoost hit on Smith was vicious.

On one hand I feel like I should stay home and watch this so I can process everything in peace

On the other I haven't really looked forward to a fight since Silva Sonnen II and I want to feed off other people's energy while watching

Got me thinking, what were some of the most anticipated in recent MMA history? Not rematches either

don't under estimate DC man.... I smell a smothering

Can't think of any match for 2014 that matches up with the 2nd half of 2013. Maybe jones vs gus 2, jones vs cormier, cain vs werdum, hendricks vs lawler 1. 1st three got cancelled though.

Why does Jon jones think the ufc "turned their back on him?"

Chael Sonnen's take

IMO he brought up some good points, amongst other stupid ones. You just have to read through it

Yea he said it in an interview yesterday. I think it may have been to do when he got his dui or they postponed his fight
post #5834 of 41029
Burkman is in trouble bruh.

Lombard looked like he could have went 3 rounds straight off the scale.
I think he was angry from the promo where they showed he and cormier talking trash to one other and he wasn't aware that it was recorded.

Did anyone checkout the Q&A with CM Punk?laugh.gif there were so many drunk people asking stupid questions especially the last guy.

Though I have a feeling the winner of that fight will be waiting in limbo, this Jones vs Cormier fight has rematch written all over it.

considering that DC is gonna beat him, they probably will give Jones an immediate rematch

It had to do when he wouldn't step up to fight Sonnen and they cancelled 151 or whatever and they called him and his coaches out for it

I hope he doesn't apologize. jones been acting a fool and dissing him. Gotta stand up for yourself. Weird how jones usually has bad blood with the black guys in the division. First Rashad, then quinton, and now DC. Wonder if he'll have problems with johnson since he trains with Rashad.

I think I'm gonna grab a DC walk out shirt. I like the "embrace the grind" it says on it

Yeah kinda shady how they would release that footage when people think they're done being recorded. But he's getting mad over them showing how he really acts. Most already know he has a different persona when the camera is on.

Akhmedov, KO 2.

Garbrandt, TKO 1.

Horiguchi, TKO 2.

JBJ, R3 finish.

That's not the point, obviously nobody is forcing me to watch them :lol think a little bit deeper than that

The point is when you run this many cards, the cards are very thin. It's very difficult to put up that volume of cards and maintain a certain level of quality and high level fighters. In 2014, a big reason why PPV numbers were in the gutter were because of injuries. Once a big name fighter goes down, the card is basically shot

I don't think he used those exact words, did you get a quote? I remember him saying something to the effect where he was surprised the UFC used something as promo or something like that but I believe he just got a new contract with the UFC and they're probably paying him a ton of money

I think part of the issue is the oversaturate/40+ cards kind of devalue and reduce the significance of the cards and fights.

A few years ago, most of the numbered UFCs meant something and featured 3-4 good fights and possibly some interesting prelims because they were a little selective of the fighters. Now, they need bodies to fill their cards. I think their plan/goal was good. I just think they moved too quick. They probably should've waited 10 years to allow a generational shift and greater acceptance of the sport with youth.

Between fight pass and the FX/Fox sports, it's just too much.

I understand where Dana is coming from with his thinking, but he doesn't have the product for this many cards

I also understand that Dana wants to strike while the iron's hot, he got the FOX deal and had to move on it. He may have never gotten this opportunity again, so that makes total sense from a $$$ perspective

To the casual fan, I can't see how this has been a positive thing though. They probably think the product is not that high of quality watching these caliber fighters on the free cards.. and then IF they chose to actually purchase a PPV last year, they were most likely let down by a terrible card they paid a lot of money for

I think Jones is still salty with the UFC for the way the 151 debacle was handed. Can't blame him.

They need to stack the cards again.

They easily could have had lyoto vs dollaway or Conor vs siver on this card.

Hell, they could have put both. But they know Conor sells out dublin/Boston and lyoto sells out Brazil so I see the money motive but it isn't turning out big numbers in the US.

^^^

I've commented a few times on that.

Especially when they do 2 watered down cards from different cities on the same weekend etc.

And one is only available on Fight Pass.
