Alexander Gustafsson better win his fight later this month. He's the only one who can match Jones.

Figures jones would do some wrestling sign since only low class people watch it.
That 2nd rd was gooood...wish they could have kept doing that to see who last man standing..
I am dealing with it lol idrc who won but I will say I was mad there was no knockout that's wat I really wanted to see was one of them put the other one down... Wen he started dropping dc on his butt like nothing I new it was over

"everybody who bought a Cormier shirt, you wasted your money, take it back"

-Jon Jones

herb couldve broken them up and let them fight

this is ufc, someone is gonna end up beating jones. unless he retires early and i dont see that happening since there's money to be made
post #6038 of 41107
Impressive performance by Jones, though I'm not thrilled with DC's conditioning tonight.

IDK, his punches lacked pop and he just didn't have the same explosiveness I've seen from him.

Maybe, finally, in his 3rd fight at 205 we're seeing the adverse effects of the weight cut. Maybe he needs more time to get accustomed to the weight, IDK. But I feel like this fight would've been closer had it been at HW.

How successful dc was with the uppercuts makes me believe that rumble might be the guy who will really take bones into deep water.

Regardless, whoever wins that Gus vs rumble fight will be a worthy opponent
post #6040 of 41107
Nah I think same thing would of happen at hw
post #6041 of 41107

that was the smallest DC looked in the UFC and thats probably not a good thing against jones. Jones just too big and too talented. Rumble Johnson after he beat Gus!

He couldn't handle the championship rounds.

which was semi predictable.

That's cause DC is not used to fighting at that pace. and at 5 rounds.
Jones with another w

Jones v Johnson would be entertaining
He tryed showed some fight but plain n simple his conditioning couldn't handle it
post #6046 of 41107

fight wouldnt have gone any different at HW

DCs best shot was to dirty box to negate that reach, it just didnt happen in the 4th and 5th

DC's dirty boxing on the inside in R2 gave JBJ some problems. Right uppercut was open and landing at will.

i actually think that rumble can put the pressure on jones in a way that no one else can athletically

whether or not he wins is another story

is rumble that good now? I always saw him as the guy who runs out of cardio and always get rear naked choked

I haven't seen one lead left hook, uppercut by DC the whole night. Dc should've studied that JJ/Tyson video (super serious btw). To beat JJ you gotta stay in tight and rip on those tight punches ala hooks and uppercuts. I still believe Gustafson brought the toughest challenge. Dc comes second but he respected Jon too much ( cmon you slam Jon on the 5th rd, but not earlier?). I'm afraid that that's DC's last title and only title shot in the UFC. I'll be rooting for Gustafson on the rematch.

Would be interesting

The body Work Jones put in should be taught to every fighter across the board. It rendered DC defenseless in the last 2 rounds.

Again, another fighter who can only throw with one hand. Smh such a disappointment to see a pro not be able to do anything except jab with their weaker hand

Dude said he could take Jon Jones down 100 times out of 100

Cormier made me a fan tonight. I thought he did better then the judges thought, but Jones won that fight based off the takedowns. Jones pissed me off at the end, I hope Cormier gets a rematch and knocks him out.

Jon Jones is a **** with those push kicks to the knee and the sneaky shoulder lock from the clinch lol.

Just too damn good.

Honestly, don't see the problem with any of those techniques

Guys go in there trying to break limbs and choke people unconscious

yeah those are savvy techniques and quite honestly I wish more fighters would adopt them.
