The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- O’Malley v Vera on NOW

I remember so many dudes in here saying Rumble could beat Jones.

This is a joke, Jones gonna come back, wash DC and celebrate with a Scarface style pile of blow.

You're STILL on this ********?

All we learned yesterday is Rumble has a hard time with Olympic caliber wrestlers (he looked fine against Davis).

And Rumble dropped DC in a way I've never seen DC get dropped.

Rumble's advantage over Jones? Possibly KO power.

Last nights fight said NOTHING of a Jones/Rumble match.

Let it go son. All this hypothetical talk is idiotic until dudes actually fight.

But if they do fight, and Jones wins, you're more than welcome to come back and say "I told you so".

Because you seem like that kind of guy

I don't even think any of us had Rumble beating Jones, either, we simply said dude had a shot.

Because I'm pretty sure he was claiming Rumble had 0% chance to beat JBJ,

The 205 division went from 100 to 0 real quick.

I love DC as a fighter, but having to hear him run his mouth as a paper champ :smh:

that's my biggest problem ... Dude ain't no ******* champ. His last fight, he got dominated by JBJ ... So be real, act like you a contender holding the belt.

No one is taking his win over AJ, but you ain't not champ ...

Arlovski with that nice uppercut. Good to see him win.
His attitude towards everything is
pimp.gif
he remind me of Hunt, that humble, idc what's next, I just want to scrap

Also, apparently he popped his calf before the fight, doctors said it was serious enough not to fight

AA says, na, I'm good, I'll fight

Dana calls him into the back and says "Look man, are you sure you want to fight?"

AA: "Is that what you called me back here for?" Walks out

Arlovski seems like he grown as person. He was so unlikable as the champion and during his affliction days. His relationship with Dodson though, hilarious.

I remember he used to date a fine Playboy model. I remember when they broke up and saw a rumor she started to date tim sylvia. Hilarious if true.

They are going to have a hell of a time choosing between Rockhold or Souza

Rockhold: 30, best recent wins- Machida (sub), Bisping (sub)

Souza: 35, best recent win- Mousasi (sub), Okami (KO)

Both are wanting to fight in September

Rockhold negatives: Was KO'd by Vitor, not as long as a winning streak as Souza who is on 8 fight win streak

Souza negatives: Last loss was a unanimous decision to Rockhold, coming off meniscus surgery, arguably not as marketable as Rockhold

Dana:

"It took me so long to get here because Luke Rockhold had me in the hallway," White told Helwani. "Luke Rockhold said, 'Do not give this fight to Jacare. Jacare isn't going to try to come in and do what I'm going to do. You saw what I did to [Lyoto] Machida. That's exactly what I'm going to do to Weidman. Me and Weidman will go after each other.  It'll be a stand-up fight. We'll do this, we'll do that. Let's do this thing in Las Vegas.'

"He was all over me back here. We'll see what happens."

Asked directly if Rockhold was the No. 1 contender at middleweight, White wasn't coy in the least.

"He is," said White. "He is. [Ronaldo Souza's] manager texted me after the fight and said, 'He's ready to go.' So, I don't know. We'll see what happens here."

Speaking with Olivi, White seemed to be leaning a bit more towards Souza.

"So Jacare's manager hit me right after the fight and said, 'We're ready for Chris Weidman,' so it'll probably be Jacare vs. Weidman next. I don't know. Anything can happen. We'll see how this thing plays out. Luke Rockhold is obviously the No. 1 contender. We'll see what happens."

If they wait long enough, Weidman will get hurt and they could just make Jacare v Rockhold.

Plus idk how much Weidman wants to fight in September. He always talks about wanting to fight on the Memorial Day card so he can take the summer off and have a full summer with his family.

Rockhold make more sense since jacare coming off juicing surgery

Since Weidman v Belfort only went 1 round, I wouldn't be shocked if UFC tries to have him fight at 190 in Brazil and move Rousey to the co-main. If they did that more than likely it would be Jacare he would fight.
