I thought I heard something where Barboza was looking at fighting in Nov and wanted Alvarez, Pettis, or Khabib. But Pettis wouldn't be ready for a Nov fight.

The Muay Thai specialist always expects a striking battle in his UFC fights, and believes match-ups against Alvarez or former champion Pettis would please the fans. However, he believes he has to be ready to face anyone if he wants to win the UFC title one day.

"Fans always prefer to watch standup wars. Pettis and Eddie Alvarez like this type, but it’s a MMA fight," he said. "I’m ready to fight anywhere, so I won’t pick and choose based on their style. Anyone, I’m ready."

Cerrone, who beat Barboza in 2014, will get the next shot at 155-pound champion Rafael dos Anjos, while both Pettis and Nurmagomedov recover from injuries. Alvarez recently defeated Gilbert Melendez in Mexico City, while Michael Johnson, who suffered a controversial decision loss to Beneil Dariush last Saturday, defeated Barboza via decision in February.

With that being said, Holm definitely aint ready nor does she deserve a shot over Tate. On that same point, Tate got dominated twice sooooo I mean the options are limited

Overall Dana and company are just making these fights with no dambs given to rankings or contender ladders

I took it more as finding a fresh opponent for Ronda, not a third fight with Tate

Honestly nobody wanted to see Tate a third time so I get it but Holm for sure isn't ready

His point on Tate is that if she lost, which SHE WOULD HAVE, her career ultimately would be over. Losing three times to her, you're done. Holm can lose and still stick around since she would have only lost once

So disappointed by the Holms/Rhousey matchup. The women's 135 and Men's 135/125 division are so shallow right now. Holms is clearly not ready. I don't think I've even seen her grappling/ground game.

They should give Tate the Cyborg fight at 140 catch weight. Gives Cyborg a shot to get down to 135 or test the waters to see the publics interest.

holm might get destroyed faster than any of ronda's previous opponents. this fight and women's MMA is a joke right now.

and I agree with Gunna. I want to see the fight, but I still believe Ronda would run through Cyborg.
