The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- UFC 300 ON NOW

smh at this hate on RR's technique
It's evident how much time and effort Edmond and Ronda are spending on improving her one real weakness, striking. Rousey's gotten better in that department, but "sloppy" isn't an unfair asssessment the way Ronda came out against Bethe. Very loose, reckless striking defense with hands down and chin out/exposed. Rousey was lucky to not get clipped. I fully understand her plan was to apply pressure and end the fight quickly because of Bethe's suicide comments and the whole "don't cry." There's ways to be aggressive but smart. Luckily for Ronda, Holm is a volume boxer/puncher, somewhat like Nick Diaz on the men's side. Holm has tremendous technique and kickboxing experience, but her damage is by sheer volume and not by one-punch KO power.

I like Joanna but Straw Weight is looking suspect too.
I appreciate Joanna's crisp striking as much as the next MMA fan, but I can't help but feel she's holding the belt for Claudinha. Their first fight in December '14 is to date the best bout in short-lived strawweight history. One could argue Claudinha took the two rounds necessary to secure a decision against Joanna, and now she wants to fight Joanna even if she loses to Letourneau. Complete joke Letourneau is receiving the title shot after Claudinha was promised. 4-fight win streak, I get it, but not one of those wins is close to a victory over Jessica Aguilar.

I remember watching TUF a few seasons ago and she made a guest appearance and was sort of on the shy/timid side. Amazing what a little fame can do to your personality

As my dad used to say...fame, money, and alcohol don't change people; it makes them more of who they really are.

I like Rousey but I really want to see someone give her a fight. Only then will we know if she's all she's hyped to be.

I love me some Joanna Champion :pimp:. i got her winning by tko within 3rds. But I really want to see her fight Claudia again. Their first fight was :wow: .

Holm is going to get tapped out in the first, but i'll be rooting for her. If only she had KO power, she might have a puncher's chance. Only way she can win this one is by head kick or decision, and neither is going to happen.

I'm with you on both statements, though I won't be rooting for either Holm or Rousey. I kind of want Rousey to keep winning so everyone can continue being rustled

I think Rousey is gonna win but part of me is giving Holm a small chance. Just because it seems like outside things may take a toll mentally on Rousey. You got her mom calling out Edmond. Edmond has his bankruptcy **** going on. The Travis Browne stuff. Her mom supposedly not going to her fight for the 1st time. And now people calling her out for domestic abuse. Plus I'm intrigued to see what tricks and techniques Jon Jones taught Holm since he played a big part in getting her prepared.

Maybe he told her to kick kneecaps like he does. That arm lock he did on glover was nasty, surprise that I haven't seen someone do a similar move.

^^^ didn't know about all that and some of it makes sense now. That whole rant had super cringe written all over. Holly looked like she was unfazed but at the same time confused. Ronda looked sorta shooked like she was looking for a reason to get mad. Seriously? Holly had a fake smile? there was hardly any build up to this fight and all was shown were the embedded vids and all holly did was backflips into the pool and bring a fan onstage. Rooting for holly, she honestly seems more determined, but Ronda is gonna be one tough mountain to climb.

Holm takes the belt by headkick knockout round 2.

I got goosebumps watching that weigh ins. Knot because of the drama, but cause ronda's cringey antics.

It honestly seemed like she was deflecting her anger at her mother or perhaps the fans who are calling her out on her double standardness onto Holm

Rogan asked Holm what happened and she was like "idk I was just having a drink

"

Weigh In's Ronda is always

Thought I'd be the only one going for Holmes. Hope she wins, tired of Rousey already.

Anybody know if the event will start early? Since it's held in Australia with the different times and all.

Thanks, hopefully it's actually live live, and no 30 second delay which would probably spoil it via news on the internet.

This ***** really called her Holmes

It's the auto-correct.
