Bendo seems like he might be almost done with the sport. I heard an interview recently where he was asked about his interest in watching MMA cards and he basically responded with enh, mma is aight, it pays the bills.

My moms just got robbed in her own driveway the other night so I'm going to sign the both of us up to take some Muay Thai classes. Not going to front, lightweight nervous.

If your moms is as old and/or small as my mother, knowing how to use a can of wildfire pepper spray is probably way more effective than any martial art LINK

+1 on the Krav Maga classes though, especially if they drill effective pepper spray use like this

Bendo took his gloves off, didn't say anything about retirement in the octagon. His trainer walked out with the gloves in his hand. I'm thinking he is going to bellator.

My mom is 50, probably 5'4 and in decent shape. Krav Maga specializes in close quarters weapon defense combat right? Jason Bourne style?

I've had some Krav instruction. They teach fighting from all ranges, not just weapon specific.

Basically it goes from avoid conflict, to strike mercilessly anywhere and everywhere you need to to put your opponent down (eyes, throat, groin), to get the **** out of there.

Which is why if you feel like your mom should learn something to defend herself, it is probably the one that makes the most sense.

Sounds like it was a good fight. Reading that Masvidal won Rds 1+3. Ben won Rd 2. Rd 4 was close. And Ben outworked him in Rd 5.

Which makes sense given that Jorge was supposed to fight a 3 Rd fight initially before he stepped in for Alves.

Caught the co main and main event this morning before heading to jiu jitsu class.

Kim dominated Waters. Got him in the crucifix and rained elbows and punches for about 2 straight minutes until the ref stepped in.

Main event was entertaining. Typical Bendo fight where he did enough to win. I had him win 4 rounds to 1, but each round was pretty close.

Hope Bendo re-signs, but I always had a feeling that Dana never liked him, similar to Brendan Schaub, etc.

Also, Masvidal came out to the Scarfsce song. I thought that was since he is a Cuban dude training in Florida.

Man I would hope Dana keeps him but I have a feeling other orgs will offer him big money. At the same time I question Bendo's drawing power and if Dana thinks he's expendable

This is what I was thinking when I saw the fight but it could be him trying to show the ufc he might be leaving. I would hate to see him fight in another organization.

The fight was close but I was surprised when they said it was a split decision. I could see the first round going to Masvidal other than that I had Ben taking the fight. Jorge did a good job of defending against Bens takedown attempts for the first couple of rounds, he was even able to get him in a tight choke at some point. Masvidal was looking tired after the third. Bengawd showed improvement in his striking, stayed busy and was able to get some takedowns.

He took a shot at the end of the fight, wonder who he was talking about.

Damn this is trash, I didn't know they'd play the fight on a random time. Thought it'd be on tonight Benson Henderson is one of my favorite fighters too. Whatever glad he won.
